Yes, it's a phallic symbol. I was the microphone guy in my ex-congo. Since I have an over-active imagination and I was bored to death at meetings, I thought many times about that: the microphone as a phallus. But that only happened while holding it for the unmarried young sisters, I swear it!

this past week i flew out of town to attend a seminar for work, then afterwards i drove 150 miles extra to go and visit my dad.. two years ago my mom died, and the lack of concern/caring from the so-called "friends" from two different states was a major reason why i walked away from the jw religion.. anyway, my dad is depressed and his local hall has him doing more fs, and attending the meetings,,, ok so that could be a good thing for him.. but i noticed that service and meeting attendance is the only thing that they are pushing on him.

nobody seems to check up on him, he just jumped at the chance to go out to eat with me.

and the negativity !!!

DO NOT ALLOW HIM TO SELL THE HOUSE. I don't know much about the American laws, but in Romania after a person dies his\her surviving partner (husband or wife) inherits 25% of the immobile property (house, courtyard, land, etc.) if the property belong EXCLUSIVELY to the deceased partner before the marriage and if the marriage was longer than 5 years. If the property was aquired later, by both partners, the survivor inherits 50%. In both cases, the remaining percentage is divided between the offspring of the couple. If the deceased had children outside that marriage, those will have an equal share from his percentage with the legitimate children.

If that is the case in the American law too, then it means all the offspring of your parents already have a share of the inheritance from your deceased mother. By law, it's theirs starting from the date of your mother's death. Your father is not the only owner of the family estates.

You father may have been "persuaded" to sell everything and give it to the Watchtower Society. Do not allow him to become a burden for your family and for himself. Keep the family property intact.

I feel great! I'm gonna buy a small Christmas tree with a lot of coloured light-bulbs. Yea, it's true that Christmas is a pagan celebration, but what the Hell, Christianity is a pagan religion! All religions are man-made and I'm gonna take the fun part and wipe my a...s with the doctrines.

In Romania, smoked blood sausage is a Christmas food. I ate it and it's good. I don't know how healthy it is, though... Here pigs are sacrificed in the old traditional way, immobilizing them with ropes and piercing the heart with a long knife. No carbon dioxide, no electric shock, nothing. This is extremely stressful for the sacrificed animal, and guess where will the stress hormones be? In the blood. Hormones have strong molecules, they can resist boiling and even digestion, so they are able to pass from our stomach right into the blood stream, unharmed or denaturated into even more dangerous hormone variations.

another thing my jw friend says to me when i question the wt is, "what would their motivation be?

they're so humble and no-one gets paid except a basic living allowance for the workers at bethel.

they're not like those other rotten 'ministries' whose leaders get paid a lot of money, etc.".

I'm very sure that someone at the top is siphoning money into some secret accounts. It's gotta be that. And the GB members may not be the owners of those, but has anyone bothered to check on their sons and daughters? All churches on the face of the Earth have at least once laundered dirty money for someone else. They are the perfect cover for that kind of operation. The Wanktower Society may have came into beeing as an idea, but that was more than 100 years ago. Meanwhile, it became a financial mammoth. Someone is getting the big money, trust me!

wts suckers in many young people who are still naive and trusting and they also sucker in people who are going through some sort of a crisis in their lives.

but they also prey on old people.

those who preach no doubt are sincere and believe what they're doing is life saving and all that... but to turn things around, how many here would tell an elderly jw that their religion is a con?
