If You Could Choose The Manner Of Your Death...What Would It Be?
by Was New Boy inmost people really don't want to think about it....but if you could choose, how would like to leave the planet?.
going out with a bang could be fun..... dying as a martyr?.
dying as a hero saving someone?.

When I'll be 80 years old, I'd like to pilot a Hercules bomber full of napalm and kamikaze-dive on the WT Headquarters while the GB is having a meeting concerning some noo-lite. "I got all the light you want, bastards!" But then I guess that would only make martyrs of them so I'll just go with the snu-snu.

Want to quit Bible study
by confusedstudent inhi i was just looking for some advice.
i have been studying with the jw's for over a year now, and attended 2 memorials and the district/assembly conventions.
at first, and up until very recently i truly believed what i was learning was the truth.

I wasted 4 years of my life because the family I studied with became "friends" with me. And now when they see me, they pretend I don't exist. JWs are uncapable of unconditioned love and friendship. As long as you eat at the Governing Body's tabe, they are your "friends". After that, no. In your case, I think you can refuse to be baptised without giving too many details. They will not shun you, because you are not a baptized JW. Just keep a nice and amiable attitude (but be firm) and those sisters will still visit you, only less often. BEWARE: playing at both ends is dangerous, the JWs can be stubborn, persuasive and they know how to use sentimental blackmail. If I could go back in time, I wish I had the courage to say "no" when I was asked if I want to study the Bible with them.

In general, what is the ethically correct response if a minor tells you someone is molesting him/her?
by InterestedOne ini was thinking about what the elders are trained to do versus what i personally would do if a minor confided in me that someone was molesting him/her.
i'm not sure what the ethically correct first response should be.
my first thought is to contact some kind of law enforcement that specializes in investigating situations like this with people experienced in getting to the truth of the matter.

Just call the Police, they know what to do after that.

How HIGH did you climb the ranks as a JW? Did you like the STATUS?
by unshackled inso what were your biggest jw accomplishments as a rank & file?
curious as to what level you climbed the r&f ladder while in the org, or if you still are in.. did you regular pioneer, or auxiliary pioneer?
bethel?

I was a regular mike handler, bouncer and reader at meetings. I was a succesful 5-minutes speaker at the Ministry School. Answered twice at each WT study session. I lead a few FS meetings when elders and MS were unavailable. Auxiliary pioneer for 2 months. I was interviewed at a circuit assembly. Worked a few days (around 7-8) as a volunteer for the construction of a large assembly hall. All the above combined with a good financial and social status made me the perfect candidate for the positions of MS and husband. Then I kicked the bucket and spoiled the milk.

Did You Tend To Question The Organization Or Did You Just WANT To Believe?
by minimus ini know some who always questioned the elders, the society, and others because they were typically skeptical.. there are those who just seemed to want to believe whatever they were told.. i was more a skeptic, during my last decade.. .

I questioned them in my mind, but in the same time I wanted to believe. Typical cognitive dissonance. In the end, reason and logic prevailed.

"I'm OK... Your OK" What Books Have You Read, That Have Changed Your Life?
by Was New Boy inthe first book i read (that wasn't a novel or school asigned) that change my life was "i'm ok your ok." i read it when i was back in bethel.. it puts forth the idea that all of us have three major qualities in dealing with life.. the adult personality..... is the concept of reason.
it ask the questions of why, when, who, where, what.. the child personality.....playfullness and emotional and sometimes irrational.. the parent personality....the parent has all the rules/dogma.
this is what is right.... and that is wrong.. it said that the churchs were always "parental.

Now is the time to close ranks!!!
I liked these definitions;
unite; come together for fighting, unite and work together; focus a group's energies
This is the way we can ensure that we will be part of the great crowd, if we unite, come together for the spiritual warfare, unite and work together to reconcile people to Jehovah.Dub2:
sorry, the words of the CO are the these?

if they are they are very interesting. strong words.Dub1:
Yes the CO said it came direct from governing body. (The points after definition are my own understanding not their words.)
Dub3:
That thread was a while back, think in Sep. It definitely is an interesting statement. I really think the end is so very close. Things are happening all over the world that I don't recall in my history. It's really bad out there, people are turning on each other, their governments. We definitely need to be there for each other, cause the world is falling apart fast, economically and socially. It's a real mess.
Uber-admin-dub:
We need to "close ranks" in a number of ways.
Draw close together for the purpose of accomplishing our ministry.
Draw close together for the supporting and building one another up.
Draw close together as a family.
I heard this expression in my Kingdom Ministry School for Ministerial Servants last November, but I thought someone else had brought it up before.Dub4:
Hmm, I have problems to fully understand the phrase "to close ranks". Could somebody please explain them in other words?
Does it mean "to get together" or something like that?Dub5:
that is exactly how I see it Ava...dates mean nothing to me...but the sign of these times....the things happening now ...it is speeding on us......yes I would say "to get together" sums it nicely....we really have to strive to draw close to our brothers and sisters now...we need to be really united...we will probaly have to rely on each other more than we ever have...

I took the liberty to eliminate some of the irrelevant posts. So, the GB is really tightening the grip! I can read between the lines a new witch-hunt! It's so good to have noo-lite at the apostate table! I'm dying of curiosity to see what will happen in the next year.
