i've noticed when i was an active dub that some jws act joyful whenever they hear that an inactive jw or a df'd person had something bad happen to them.
some have a glee-ful smile and they give that *look* that says, "we told you so".
have you ever experienced what i'm referring to?
"He left Jehovah, he got what he deserved."
What an awful thing to say, I can't imagine how the parents would feel if they heard this. Then again I've gotten that line before, and this one too:
"There must be something wrong with you to not want to go back to the Kingdom Hall."
having been a born in for 44 years i can say yes to this question.
my 2 sisters and 1 brother and my dad have nothing to do with my family now we have made our stand against the jw's.
i was always downtrodden at school for been a jw.
Almost, but I have the rest of my life to catch up and make up for it.
i just had some weird thoughts.
right now we have the technology, artifical hearts, limbs, etc.
recent news articles i've read about how the technology now on reading thoughts, already people can think of turning on tv, electrical things and it happening with a chip implanted.
There's the Methuselah Foundation that's working on extending human life.

i think it's a given that most of us who have left, have had dreams about still being jw's or doing jw related things, even years after we left.
i had one of those last night.
it involved getting a hotel for the next district convention and then it skipped ahead to when i was attending.
When I was still a JW, I often dreamt about Armageddon or the Great Tribulation but never the Paradise.
JW Dream 1: It was dark outside and there were rising floods and electricity was gone. All the JW's gathered at the Kingdom Hall with their emergency supplies.
JW Dream 2: Small blue meteorites were hitting everyone but JW's.
Now that I'm out, sometimes I have dreams about still being a JW.
Ex-JW Dream 1: I was in my old car pool group and we were going to an Assembly located in a mall. Since I didn't want to go the Assembly, I wandered off and got lost and stranded.
Ex-JW Dream 2: It was after the meeting and I was socializing with my old friends from the hall outside at night.

i have a female friend that has been having chronic earaches.
she has been going to the health clinic frequently lately.
i saw her today and she is very hyperactive and feeling good.

i figured out it's been 4 months and 5 days since my last meeting ever.
july 10th, it was a sunday.
i hadn't been there in 2 months or so and decided to see if anyone noticed i'd been gone.
I don't remember what was the last meeting i went to, it could have been the Sunday Public Talk/WT.
I was treated like 2nd class...as usual
Reason for being my last: lack of love transportation
I was in car group, but the driver was given more borg responsibilities. So occasionally, everyone had to find a ride.
Sadly only a few people from the KH were able to give us a ride once in a while.
Then eventually, I was expected to walk 2 miles to the KH and 2 miles back home - even if it was cold and raining outside. Afterall, "our brothers and sisters in Africa walk hours to their meetings."
So much for taking care of the sheep.
i know of someone that is concerned that she will be all alone when she dies.. are you afraid to die alone??

Most likely no, since most of my friends and family don't want anything to do with me after I left.
So I'm learning to enjoy my own solitude.
did any of you guys have these at your book study?.
Yes, it was called "Cake Night" in my area. I was lucky enough to be assigned to the book study group that had it every month. Someone once brought a cake that read "For everyone but [elder's name]." The elder of that book study had a sense of humor and laughed. Then the book study groups were stopped and so did cake nights. I missed those since it was interesting to see what others brought and it was fun to bring surprises.
