Read a story of child neglect and abuse among JWs in S. Africa that was sent to me.
by AndersonsInfo ini regard the information below as true until proven false because of corresponding with a young man in s. africa for a few years whose story i posted on my website: http://www.watchtowerdocuments.com/stories/caleb.html, "freedom from an unsafe haven, by caleb.
" although some of the accounts of abuse of children in s. africa in the story below are older, calab wrote me details of abusive treatment meted out to young people in his area that he chose not to put in his story for fear he could be identified.
calab in now in university in another part of africa and very happy after breaking the chains that engulfed his mind.. barbara.

"You will be objects of hatred "a reasonable understanding
by luap inindeed thats just what witnesses are.
everyone hates them.
is there any other group in "christendom "that are hated as much as these.?

Jesus said that his followers would be objects of hatred on account of his name. In other words, those who REALLY walk in the footsteps of the Christ, recognize him for who he is and adhere to his teachings would not be welcome by the vast majority of those living toward the end of this system of things.
Jehovah's Witnesses are abhorred, not on account of the Christ, but on account of their conduct in violation of what the bible really teaches and a blatant disregard for the Christ.
Big difference. Huge!
MASSIVE!!!

If we lose a few hundred oh well
by RayPublisher inwasn't there a quote in one of ray's books where a gb member said something to that effect?
they were going to change a policy ("new light" lol) and i think it was grant suiter who said, "if we lose a few hundred oh well we'll gain lots more from this!".
i have both books (hardcopy and pdf) and tried to find it but couldn't.

I just finished CoC not too long ago and I don't remember a line like the one you describe. Not saying it's not there... just don't remember it. Franz did mention something about the GB voting down a change to the alternative service (military) policy because they were afraid of the reaction they would get from so many having already endured prison time for their current position.

FDS says - "No need to check our work. Besides, it will only make God angry."
by Crisis of Conscience inthough i no longer believe the fds is indeed appointed by god, i guess because of what has been taught to me all these years through the wtbts, i still make an effort to try and look at both sides.
and then i come across this number below, which is how i arrived at my title for this thread.
***w81 2/15 p.19 do we need help to understand the bible?***.

Cedars I think that would be a great idea. I had the same thought as I was just reading through your own message to the GB. However, given the breach, they are probably already hard at work compiling a list of new email addresses.
Doesn't hurt to try, I suppose.

Draconian Rules for Attending "Special Convention"
by BluesBrother inbritish dubs are invited to attend a special convention next summer in dublin , irish republic.
o k, this kind of trip has been done many times before.
however i have never seen such a crude and rigid set of rules that would apply to their own people going on a trip, at their own expense of course.

Just wondering... if a person were to lose his/her superstar, "exemplary status", how on earth could the WTS prevent someone from taking a trip to anywhere on this planet, staying at any hotel he chooses (including the hotel for which he already has reservations and possibly a deposit) and attending any convention he opts to waste his time at? How much authority does this organization think it wields?
Are they going to call the hotel and dictate who can or cannot stay there? Will they try to cancel his airline reservations? Is it just a matter of not being able to wear his superstar name badge or would he face diciplinary action upon returning home from the trip?

I want to give some info on what i experienced during the end
by cptkirk inthe end before i left this god forsaken organization.
i had expected to tell a lot on these boards about what i witnessed in this organization...i'm tentative because for one i don't think a lot of people would even believe me...and because i don't want to put all this personal stuff out on front street.
but one thing i had to say because it's just to great, and probably won't be believed either..... before i left, about 8 months ago.....i met with the group to go out in field service on a saturday.

I believe it. I had an experience just like that, only different. The Watchtower conductor physically "acted out" with overt anger and hostility toward me in the library. I was so shocked by what he did, I just sat there with a stupid look on my face. Later, after I was able to digest what had happened, I realized I was also shocked that the other two elders in the room didn't say anything or interfere.
I think it was in response to a comment I made about looking forward to the time when Jehovah will lift the ban on gay people in his organization. Brother WT-conductore flew into a rage, asking me if I thought I was in a position to dictate to God how he should run his organization.
There's some whacko's out there. It surprises you when you see it because it is TOTALLY not the person you're acquainted with in a more public setting.
