It's also having an active lifestyle being out early and doing anything you feel worthwhile, especially field work when you feel like you own a "territory" or turf.

After A Day In Field Service, Did You Get Euphoric Or A Spiritual High?
by ÁrbolesdeArabia ini know this might sound silly but field service did provide a strange type of good feelings after i was done.
i called this the "halo-effect" because i felt so "righteous, obedient and good" for taking the weirdos or "the friends" in my station wagon.
vans and station wagon owners in the congregations often get used hard, pile up seven whacks and your off!

does anyone dream they are on the ministry?
by pajaha inor maybe that should be "nightmare" - not dream.. it happens less and less, but still does now and again after 10 years.
it's always associated with a great feeling of dread and going from door to door knowing you do not believe what you are saying (i should point out that, while i was in it, i pretty much did believe it).. i guess it shows how big a part of our lives it once was - a bit like you often dream of being in school or of long-departed relatives..

I'm happy to report that I do not. I used to dream about field service before going out in field service.

fulltimestudent if we take away the magnitude, since even one death is too much, then one can't argue there exists a solution in my opinion. In my opinion, and to slant toward our associated or unassociated organization, they will in all likelyhood hit the streets and see this as an opportunity to play on peoples fears and grief.

This really works to shut up the elders and other do gooders prying questions
by harleybear infor what ever reason i have been contacted by a number of jw's as to why i do not attend the meetings etc.
in the past i have blown it off by saying i am super busy, tired, sick etc.
i had the opportunity just last week when i ran into an elder and his wife at the grocery store to respond to their comment.

Why Isn't the USA the Safest Country in the World With All the Guns
by RubaDub inwe have 9 guns for every 10 people in this country.
since more guns = better protection, i keep asking myself why there is so much gun violence here ???.
i don't see such violence in canada, australia, europe, japan and other so-called "advanced" countries.. what is wrong with us here.

If I were in Washington DC, I know I could buy crack across from the Whitehouse, as George Bush so infamously told us.
But I've never tried to buy neither crack nor a gun. Still I know where I can buy guns, so it seems easier that way.
In easier then, are you meaning to say that at any time of day, if one tries, one can buy crack without any hassle?
But if buying a gun, there are differing laws that prevent such immediate satisfaction? If that is the case, I see your point.
But I would never want to take the chance that I would get caught in a deal or in possesion, so it takes some cajones.
The countries with the highest murder rate above, how does the murder rate compare with the economy?
I see a very large area in Russia and assume was not the same when it was under the USSR.

Puff, I was not commenting on your posting this, and am actually glad it made it as its own headline.
I've heard those on the side of no gun control say that assailants would just choose knives and do their murdering.
But Today, we have the eerily similar and certainly aweful situation happening with knives in one land and guns in another.
It negates the pro-gun/anti legislation argument.

It's easier to get crack than guns? I know where to get guns, but I, John Q Public, do NOT know where to get crack.
"Maybe I should get a gun to protect myself" - There is a child in us all grown up now that wanted a bb gun.
If I don't see danger around me, why should I get a gun?
I agree with the earlier comment, fear plays a major role.
If I get a gun, and am still fearful, maybe I'll protect myself by firing off some warning shots as I enter and
exit everywhere.

I thought this was aimed at the 20 DEAD children in Conneticut. It could not have been scripted more. The Chinese children (where there are guns laws) are alive. The 20 in America are dead and more wounded.
