last day at the kingdom hall
by ex-Special Pioneer inprologue.
get out shouted the audience you must be ashamed of yourself.
the crowd was in a hysterical state, every time that we tried to say something we were silenced by the clapping and screams which got louder and louder of the majority of the two hundred people in attendance.

Happy b-day Joliette. I was born in the same year as yourself, and I can relate to your feeling 16. Time really flies, which is why we gotta have lots of fun and enjoy ourselves.

Seven Thousand Year Creative Day still being taught (as of 2005)
by VM44 inhere is a photo of a gilead instructor (br.
liverance) teaching a class on chronology.. the photo appears in a blog entry dated 5-21-2005.. note the "6,000" and "1,000" periods in the timeline drawn on the whiteboard.. i thought the 7,000 year creative day was no longer taught, but apparently it still is at gilead, at least in the year 2005.. (picture cannot be embedded here for some reason, so here is the link to it).

That's what it appears to me too, maybe 1935 plus 70 = 2005

If I'm seeing this correctly, it includes the date of 1914 within the 6000 year period.
After that, they've got another date (maybe 1935), and 2005(?)
If Jesus is already reigning as King, and his rulership is to last 1000 years, how come the Millennium doesn't start in 1914? That never made sense to me. (say if the end according to the WT comes in 2014, Jesus is to rule for another 900 years, since 100 have already elapsed).

Being honest with yourself, could you have reasonably adjusted your attitude and continued on as a JW?
by miseryloveselders ini ask this question in harmony with deedub's swan song thread which i linked below.. http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/members/private/205902/1/time-to-say-good-bye.
to some degree, i think i understand where she's coming from.
just speaking from my own experiences since stepping into the world of anonymous apostacy, i went through a few different phases of personal outlooks.

Knowing what I know now, it's impossible. To me that's wrong on many levels. I'd have to lie to myself, lie to my family, lie to ppl in the hall, and lie to people in the ministry. Those are simply too many lies.

Are you a fader, Df'd, DA'd, or Still In?
by brotherdan ini thought this would be an interesting poll that would show everyone the backgrounds of all of us when we left, if we have.. for myself, i am not df'd, but i am attempting a fade.
i still go to some meetings with the wife to help with kids, but that's it.
no commenting or field service.. what about everyone else?.

Sure. I will have to translate it into my best English, but I don't have any problem in posting it for others.

I don't understand how DA'ing means recognizing the Society's authority, playing by their rules, etc. I never bought into that argument.
To me DA'ing is like a Resignation Letter. Instead of looking over your shoulder constantly, being scared they fire you, I resign with dignity.
Also there was a requirement when I became a JW. I had to send in a letter to my previous church notifying them that I didn't wish to be a member anymore.
Since I don't agree with the WT teachings and no longer wish to be their member, a DA letter is a reasonable way to quit.
I will send letters to a few friends, hopefully something will sink in.
Brodan, I cannot postpone this decision because any family still in will not shun me. And I won't be the only one DA'ing from my family.

Feb. 15th WT - WT Society says DFed Ones are Lawless- Just Like Demons
by flipper ini would assume that some or a good number of us here as normal humans in this society - consider " lawless " actions to include murder , robbery, extortion, rape, child abuse, war , terrorism, etc.
the wt society has their own definition of what's considered " lawless ".
anything that's considered a disfellowshipping offense in the jehovah's witnesses is now considered " lawless ".

Villabolo, that's a touching story.
Did Amy live alone? Otherwise why would she be doing hard work all by herself?
If she did celebrate Christmas without any family, it must have been really sad.
