Congratulations with all my heart!
Your new situation truly makes you a lucky man.
well things have changed big time for me.
on the 3rd of dec. finally, i have left my work at bethel and moved almost 500 kilometres away to a new life.. some of you were aware of my work in a european branch, and have kept my confidence.
for this i am eternally grateful...you know who you are.. the huge weight that has been taken off my shoulders is both a comfort and a relief.. when i settle into my new home properly, i intend to write some memoirs of life at the branch, hoping that others will find it of interest.. for now my future is for the first time uncertain and that makes it very very exciting, but i am no longer under the control of others yay!!.
Congratulations with all my heart!

we picked ours up recently and guess what moronic feature is still included?.
hint: it is demeaning to jws because it implies that they are completely brain dead.. .
any guesses?.
It's all about Family Worship Day/Night. And how different types of families have to set aside a day for it. More emphasis on this after one meeting being merged with the thursd. one.
for those in the uk, what was it like to engage in the door-to-door ministry?
i watched the video below, today, and the author states that pushing your religion on others in the uk is considered crass.
further, he says that religion is a very private matter.
I found this video to be really insightful, even though it's not produced with JW in mind. For example the parallel between Parent-child, reminds me of the Parent-Child relationship between a JW and his/her Bible Study. The JW is supposed to teach him what's right and wrong, 'encourage' him to make needed changes, correct him if the Study is not bringing an aspect of his life in harmony with JW teachings. Meanwhile the Study has to be compliant with everything, if the study (or relationship) is to continue. When in service we tell others that we're there to discuss the Bible with them, get their opinions etc, it starts off as the Adult-Adult relationship, but quickly it degenerates to Parent-Child. This in spite of the fact that many of these people are Christians, have completed their education, work and raise a family. This approach is most likely to fail, so often in service you hear JW justifying the apathy or negativity with comments such as "Satan has blinded their eyes, etc".
It's no wonder that most ppl who accept to participate in our studies are either children (because as video shows indoctrination is easier when critical thinking faculties are not yet developed), or worse yet nutjobs.
i appreciated it.
i have seen ads for women looking for men that love the lord, that,s ok. you have something in common.
but i have notice that can be a big mistake.. for example, my brother is a widower and have tried dating women in his.
church.
I have to completely agree with the comment of LongHairGal, it suits the interest of this religion to have a number of unmarried sisters who willingly slave their lives away in service or other assignments in the cong. If some of them married outside the org, the grip of the cong. would loosen as they would spend time with their families and careers. If there were many single men, the rules would surely not be so strict. Because the options are so limited and dating is supposed to take place only with chaperones, I know of many young ones who find themselves in unsuccessful, unhappy marriages.
ok today's column is up on freeminds but there is a problem and the images aren't up.. well it's time to tackle a new adventure!
but where do you start?
yesterday's column discussed some of the factors to take into consideration before buying your tree.
OFF TOPIC
well, an interesting thing happened today, here in southern california.
as i was sipping my morning coffee, i heard a distinct knocking on my door.
the front door was closed, so i didn't open it.
I live in a city where many people worked night shifts, so often in morning service we would knock lightly hoping we'd not wake people up and be told off. With good reason. Who wants to talk about religion when you've worked all night long and just getting back to sleep?
i remember ones when i was quite tired and low one elder said to me " it says in the bible that the one who endures to the end will survive, so really the only thing you/we have to do is to endure".. wow, gee, really!!
hey well that's a relief and encouraging....thanks.... i think that all that enduring was what made me tired and depressed in the first place..... what do you have to relate?.
/newborn.
He told me my service skills were great and he'd come up with an idea. So he just handed me a regular pioneer application form and told me to think of it. As if I had another choice..
i'm researching and going through so much material to try and find out whether jw doctrines and beliefs are based on the bible, as well as if they're consistent.
i'm a jw currently and i have many doubts at the moment.
fortunately this site is helping me so much, as there's always someone who's posted the same question i had in mind.
Thank you everyone! Your support is truly much appreciated.
@ TheListener - That paragraph from Isaiah's book is relevant and to the point. And it's a WT publication.
@ sd-7 - yepp it makes sense, I agree with the archeology stand, as well as the society's failed prediction of 1874, thus 1914 as well. I'll also do a study project on this using WT publications and the Bible only, just because I want to prove to my family these dates are wrong.
@ garyneal - that quote would also be helpful. Thanks in advance

diamondiiz thanks for your links and scans.
[drama introduction music].
[brothers move out podium, replace it with a couch, love seat, and a television on a bench.
two teenage girls, who can best be described as jailbait for worldly people, watch an objectionable program together.].
That was hilarious. Sd-7 you've got real talent.
I'm still laughing over dad's retarded question "Do you think God approves of people who drink the blood of others?". It always surprised me that in these dramas young ones are so quickly moved by their parents' remarks and they immediately undergo a 180 turn. Really fake imo.
