My heart and soul aren't in, but I still go just because I want to help some family members get out.
I've planned to DA next month.
i thought this would be an interesting poll that would show everyone the backgrounds of all of us when we left, if we have.. for myself, i am not df'd, but i am attempting a fade.
i still go to some meetings with the wife to help with kids, but that's it.
no commenting or field service.. what about everyone else?.

in my "study," we have encountered the matter of whether or not jesus' physical body rose from the dead.
i brought up a couple of scriptures that seem to indicate physical (john 2:18-22 and john 10:17,18).
the jw's i am "studying" with explained how, although those verses may appear to indicate physical, jesus couldn't have meant that because if he physically rose from the dead, he would have taken back the ransom.. now that i know the wt reasoning on this, can someone point me to another source, link, book, article, etc.
Ding thanks for your valuable input.
one sport that i think is lame is pro hockey.
it's the only sport where players are expected to beat the crap out of each other.
it's not as much about scoring but how many punches were thrown!
luge and skeleton
i find many similiarities between the pharisees and witnesses today......... both used disfellowshipping as a weapon (john 12: 42........"because of the pharisees they would not confess.
him, in order not to be expelled from the synagogue").
both add endless rules, yet forget about the important ones, such as love, etc.
JW are also self-righteous, and think everyone else is below them. "Worldly people" are a failure, have no hope, no happiness, and they will eventually die.
Same thing with Pharisees: "This crowd, which does not know the Law is accursed people". They thought others were not worthy of respect.
mine will surely give me away, but i don't care.
when i was preggers, i was supposed to have a c-section the first week of the new month.
so i knew i needed to go out in service so i would not be irregular that month.
om, your cell phone story just made my day. that was hilarious.
my mother-in-law is making leaps and bounds in her progress to get out of the watchtower.
for those of you that don't know, she is df'd but has been working on "coming back".
recently i've been able to exchange emails about the dangers of the organization and share jesus with her.
Nice to hear of your MIL's progress brodan. It's always great to see someone start thinking. And in this case the elders who are supposed to be kind, loving shepherds are actually contributing in this sheep never returning to the flock.
i don't know if that's ever happened: a jw writing a thesis, an article or even a book supporting the theory of evolution.
i know many jw don't have the needed qualifications for the above, but let's assume someone actually did that.
i know there are a few jw.
Interesting. But one can still subscribe to belief in God, as in Theistic evolution or evolutionary creation. Would that still lead to a JC, on the grounds of not being in accord with what the F&D slave are teaching?
According to wiki article on theistic evolution, there's a statistic there showing JW are the religion with the lowest % of people agreeing that evolution is an explanation for origin of life at 8% (even that's surprising imo). The total is 48% supporting it, Buddhists being #1 with 81%.

who are professors, doctors, and so forth (although a minority).
Would that be considered automatic DA, or do the elders have to form a JC for this matter?

interesting perspective about those seeing the corporeal aspects of life as not being sons of the Kingdom, brings to mind Romans 8:6
"For the minding of the flesh means death, but the minding of the spirit means life and peace."
It is a complex issue, and definitely open to interpretation. Thanks for your feedback.

thank you. I also appreciate we don't have complete understanding, so I can accept that.
