i got 23%, but only because I checked the Bible being inspired and 4-door car options.

Are you a fader, Df'd, DA'd, or Still In?
by brotherdan ini thought this would be an interesting poll that would show everyone the backgrounds of all of us when we left, if we have.. for myself, i am not df'd, but i am attempting a fade.
i still go to some meetings with the wife to help with kids, but that's it.
no commenting or field service.. what about everyone else?.

Sure. I will have to translate it into my best English, but I don't have any problem in posting it for others.

I don't understand how DA'ing means recognizing the Society's authority, playing by their rules, etc. I never bought into that argument.
To me DA'ing is like a Resignation Letter. Instead of looking over your shoulder constantly, being scared they fire you, I resign with dignity.
Also there was a requirement when I became a JW. I had to send in a letter to my previous church notifying them that I didn't wish to be a member anymore.
Since I don't agree with the WT teachings and no longer wish to be their member, a DA letter is a reasonable way to quit.
I will send letters to a few friends, hopefully something will sink in.
Brodan, I cannot postpone this decision because any family still in will not shun me. And I won't be the only one DA'ing from my family.

Feb. 15th WT - WT Society says DFed Ones are Lawless- Just Like Demons
by flipper ini would assume that some or a good number of us here as normal humans in this society - consider " lawless " actions to include murder , robbery, extortion, rape, child abuse, war , terrorism, etc.
the wt society has their own definition of what's considered " lawless ".
anything that's considered a disfellowshipping offense in the jehovah's witnesses is now considered " lawless ".

Villabolo, that's a touching story.
Did Amy live alone? Otherwise why would she be doing hard work all by herself?
If she did celebrate Christmas without any family, it must have been really sad.

My heart and soul aren't in, but I still go just because I want to help some family members get out.
I've planned to DA next month.

Jesus' Physical Resurrection = Take the Ransom Back?
by InterestedOne inin my "study," we have encountered the matter of whether or not jesus' physical body rose from the dead.
i brought up a couple of scriptures that seem to indicate physical (john 2:18-22 and john 10:17,18).
the jw's i am "studying" with explained how, although those verses may appear to indicate physical, jesus couldn't have meant that because if he physically rose from the dead, he would have taken back the ransom.. now that i know the wt reasoning on this, can someone point me to another source, link, book, article, etc.

Sports That Do Not Interest You

Who are the Pharisees today?
by dothemath ini find many similiarities between the pharisees and witnesses today......... both used disfellowshipping as a weapon (john 12: 42........"because of the pharisees they would not confess.
him, in order not to be expelled from the synagogue").
both add endless rules, yet forget about the important ones, such as love, etc.

JW are also self-righteous, and think everyone else is below them. "Worldly people" are a failure, have no hope, no happiness, and they will eventually die.
Same thing with Pharisees: "This crowd, which does not know the Law is accursed people". They thought others were not worthy of respect.

Disfellowshiped ARE REQUIRED to sit in the library!
by brotherdan inmy mother-in-law is making leaps and bounds in her progress to get out of the watchtower.
for those of you that don't know, she is df'd but has been working on "coming back".
recently i've been able to exchange emails about the dangers of the organization and share jesus with her.

Nice to hear of your MIL's progress brodan. It's always great to see someone start thinking. And in this case the elders who are supposed to be kind, loving shepherds are actually contributing in this sheep never returning to the flock.
