Dec 15th WT - Our Watchfulness Takes on Greater Urgency
by truthseeker inwhen i picked up this copy of the wt, i couldn't believe what i saw in the two study articles.
the first one is entitled "our watchfulness takes on greater urgency" and the second article is "prove yourselves ready for jehovah's day".. i'm not going to go into these articles in depth, as that is blondies job!
but i will elaborate on a few points.. before i begin, let's consider a recent comment at the annual general meeting by bro barr, a gb member to put things into perspective:.

There are so many who glom on to this, the more urgent it is said to be the more they grab at it. I can think of a couple of the top of my head.one just lost her husband who was raised a dubber but never went to the hall, she was not a witness and never went to the hall excpt with her husband on memoials. now that he is gone she is at every meeting because she will see him again after the big A
She does not even know that the teaching of the dubbers is that after the big A , a resurected one can not be reunited again within marrage."they will be like angles in the heavens not being married or given in marriage.
but maybe thay can live in the same apt. complex. oh ya every one will live in a capecod with torpedoed front full of glass and have 20 acres with all the crops that they can eat.
BTW, who will make the glass for the torpedoed fronts of the capecods, log the trees, mill the lumber, make the parts for the saws. mine the ore and smelt it for the parts, make the dies for the parts, wow we need the industrial complex, if not they have over exagerated the homes that they will have, maybe a one room loger.
another that comes to mind is my ante who her and my uncle never saved a nickel for thair retirement,they would always talk about the end being so close, even when others were quietly going and trying to secure a pension or savings to live on in the golden years.
so now her and my uncle have lost thair house and live with thair devout dubber daughter, and he has passed away, she now works at walmart at 72, and is every more convinced that the end is very close. and you can never win, if thay are in bad times even by thair own makeing, it shows that the end times are close and if times are good than it is the lul before the storm. you cant win the dubbers use the heads I win tales you loose to great efect.
you can lead a horse to water but you cant make him drink, I am so thankfull that even though we have lost my wifes side of our familys me and my wife are united and clearly see the silly old man behind the curtian. and for sites like this that let me do selftherapy by posting, even if not one person reads any of what I say it is like a jurnal for some that helps in releasing those pent up tensions that the dubbers try to presure you into not releasing. not to mention the christmas gifts!!!

almost from the beginning,the bible student--jehovah's witness movement has had its severe critics.in the past criticism was ordinarily directed at its doctrinal,civic or blood transfusion issues.
some dissidents who broke with the society also censured the wt.authority struture and inconsistencies in wt.theology.a few attempted to take their concern to the general public.. beginning in about 1980 all of that changed.in the past little harm came to the society from their critics.however devastating criticism has been unleashed against the society,especially since 1980. this devastating criticism has been leveled at the heart of the society's history of ever-changing date setting speculation,shifting and changing doctrine,and the concealment-of-errors strategies has been exposed by recourse to wt.literature itself.. the wt.officials have no recourse ( because they are unable to respond adequately ) but, to declare all dissidents as apostates and forbid the reading of all anti-witness materials.including on the internet.which includes this forum maintained by simon and all who have an in-put here-in.. good work everyone and welcome to the team of the ever growing critical study of jehovah's witnesses.. blueblades.

I always look at history to see how people reacted in the past. people being creatures of habit are eseantialy the same now as 1000 years ago.
what happened to the millerite movement when it was pridicted that the end of the world would come in 1843-44 and many sold thair farms and did not plant crops and then the apointed time came and went did they all curse miller and go home? no many bought into the new deadline.
and dubbers and adventists have thair roots in the millerite movement. when I was young in 75 I still remember clearly how many moved out of the citys and how real it all was to them that the end was so close. one family the nielsons sold their house in lansing mi. and had just enough money to live till the spring of 76, many had a very hard time, you dont plant crops or save for your retirement all the same. how many dubbers do each of you know who are in thair 60s and 70s who have to work a couple of days a week to make the heat, electric, ect. bills as social security does not make it? all the same and even through all that they have seen thay will be the first to run to a new date or "we are at the tip of the pencil in the end times" I never stops to amaze me. that my friends is why conmen are so prevelant today, one born every second.

Are the witnesses less sincere today?

i was two when my mom got baptized, so all i knew growing up was the watchtower.
i remember some of the 70's, and all of the 80's.

the big thing is also that we have the internet, with access to many ideas and info that was not available to us in the 70 or 80s, if brother fat head said that 607 was the date that the temple of jer. was destroyed how could we question? we were not allowed to go to collage for just this reason, the same reason that the internet is evil. it is the light that shows up the cockroaches. we used to be in awe of the depth of the books and we thought of ourselves as better than other religions because we had this great in-depth of knowledge, now with the internet we are learning the truth that it was bullshit and lies. we were mislead and lied to. and we can prove it, we could not stand up to a 1st year elder with out getting slapped down with smoke and mirrors, now we the inter net gives us gas masks and infrared goggles and we can see right through the smoke and watch the little cockaroaches run,

the average dub is sincere but that does not say much, as they are so mind numbed that thay cant think for them selves to decided if it is ok to fart with out checking a past tower to see if it would be Christian.
I have been around the dubs for 30 years and I will tell you the young ones do not remember the flight to safety in the early seventies when many many dubs headed for the hills i.e. country side just before 75, you remember 75 that was when the big A happened, well almost. oh yah that was our fault we were jumping ahead of the fds [fem deo spray] yes they have changed and if any one says different than they have not been around the dubs for more than a couple of years, when I was growing up in the early 70s you could get your privileges taken away for watching rowin and martins laugh in, today it is so tame it is not funny. you could not go to collage it was not up to you, you may as well join the military. we were told that we were bodies in school, to come home as soon as the last bell rang and we did not associate with our neighbors except to pawn off old towers.
Women were told from the platform not to wear red whit and blue together,.as this was being patriotic.
most of the dubs I knew would try to stay away from doctors as when they were growing up the fem body spray told them that doctors were evil servants of Satan, my wife when I first met her almost died as her mother and father refused to take her to a hospital when she had scarlet fever, instead they took her to a homeopathic doctor and gave her sugar pills. she is 5 foot 3 and she was down to 75 pounds, I can still remember screaming at he so called father to take her to a doctor. have things changed you bet your ass they have and no apologies from the fem body spray for all the crap they put the rank and file through with all the aluminum is the devils metal doctors are evil ,vaccines are horse puss, tv is the devils entertainment. I hope [and I am sincere in this] that the current gov, body all gets Alzheimer and cant remember where thair dicks are. but that?s me.

a few of us got together and wrote an anthology of xmas stories called tales of christmas.. i wrote a story about my first xmas after leaving the dubs.

Riding in the Backseat - A JW Rule?
by Funchback inthe jws have some peculiar rules regarding doing things with the opposite sex.
truly, the most bizzare one has to be the one about if a "brother" is driving along and he sees a "sister" waiting for a bus and he offers her a ride, in most cases he will make her sit in the backseat.
even more likely, the "sister" will turn down the ride because it may "stumble" someone who may see them together.

I think what it boils down to is when the old farts at the top aint gettn any no one get any.
the comment about you can get df'ed for spending the night with the opsite sex, reminds me of two sisters that lived on my block in arcadin fla. alice and pat, they lived togeather in the same little house and slept in the same very small bed, personally I have no problem with the gay life style but the dubbers sure do.
any way the whole hall would say alice and pat have a marriage arangement, alice stays home and does the house work and pat works at the desoto gas company. they would sat pat has the husbands roll and alice has the wifes roll, I did a lot of work in the gay community and just for fun mentioned alice and pats names, they were well known, wow what at shock. and these sisters were a couple of the cong. pillers.
I mentioned this to bill clegg , an elder in the hall. he told me that it had been mentioned before but was just the product of peoples dirty minds, I asked him if I lived with one of the blonds in the hall and shared a bed if I just declared nothing was happning would that be ok? he just gave me a look and walked away. wrong question. I can never get straight which are the right questions and which are the wrong.
