I just always hated those BS assembly experiences. What did the father do for his wife and babies next meal after the handout was gone. Did he suddenly find and start a job and earn a paycheck in the next 24 hrs? What a load of pure bullcrap

PO's were not listening to the special day program. Why I wonder?
by life is to short inplease do not judge me for going last weekend to the one day that my husband had.. i truly did not mean to even attend but at the last minute i thought if my husband goes in by himself he never sees any of the stupid points they bring out, so i dressed in one of my not so meeting skirts and a top that was very comfortable and thought i would go to starbuks when it got too much for me to handle.
i lasted about 45 minutes.. first we got there late, my fault and my husband went to use the bathroom before we found seats so i sat back and watched.. there the table that they always have in he hallway and one lone po sitting at it by himself manning it.
my husband came out and we found seats.

I don't know what the hell it means and don't care, BUT for those of you trying to date the kid with the bike I can help. The bike he is pushing is a Schwinn Black Phantom. It had a spring front fork and was the company's best bike. It was first made I think in 1949. They weighed 79 lbs!!! I don't remember all the details, but Schwinn is now making them again. The old ones are collectables, depending on the condidtion may be worth $2,000 and up.

The Gods that humans worship are violent. Many believe we are made in God's image.

where's the challenge?

We were taught that the challenge to Jeh in the Garden...... had to be answered because all the angels were watching and it would take time to work it all out. Where's the challenge? Eve ate and DID NOT become smart like God so that part was answered. Then, If Jeh. zapped her, maybe even before she got to Adam, second part is answered, she would not live forever. DEATH TOLL----3, Eve, Satan, and a snake just for good measure. No scripture to even support this 'challenge' idea because all the angels were watching. I think they just borrowed that idea from Job. DEATH TOLL from not taking care of business immediately, Jesus, billions of humans, inconprehensible amounts of suffering, millions of scraficial animals, who knows how many angels turned demon. It's just how the borg explains why Jeh. allows suffering, and I used to believe it, but THOUSANDS of years of human suffering and death just to make a point just doesn't make any sense.

Perhaps these are REALLY revealing questions!
by Terry inwe treat the other differently the more we know about them.. if we meet a powerful official we act, talk and think differently while in their presence.
(rather than a homeless person, a gang member, a saleman, etc.).
how much more so this affects how we think and act concerning who we worship!.

Good questions Terry, many more can be asked. How would we treat............if
we believe He will kill us if we don't worship him?
he is a person of our imagination based on what the bible says and the borg say He is?

Assembly/Convention Accounting
by dontplaceliterature injust having had my circuit assembly recently, i felt that the expenses in a watchtower-owned building seemed extremely over-inflated.
over $9000 for two days.
there were approximately 750-800 in attendance each day.

Robert, no taxes on these places. Long after they are paid off the charges still don't go down. They charge a premium price to rent these halls for the one or two day assemblies because these halls are a big part of their money making machine.

"Do NOT go beyond the things written (but we can)."
by TimothyT ini was doing some research yesterday on this scripture: 1 corinthians 4:6!.
"now, brothers, these things i have transferred so as to apply to myself and a?pollos for your good, that in our case you may learn the [rule]: do not go beyond the things that are written, in order that you may not be puffed up individually in favor of the one against the other.".
read this from the watchtower 2008, april 15th, page 7:.

A great example of Borg going beyond is their ever changing rules on blood. If they Really believed 'no blood' in the beginning of that doctrine they would have not even allowed blood tests. When I was a kid and my parents became Witnesses, we used to check food ingredients for lecitin, possibly a blood product. One that was nut was the machine that returns your own blood to you (can't remember the name of it) as long as it was primed not with blood and the blood was continuely contained, if it became exposed to air in the process it was "spilled" and couldn't be used. Look at where they are today on blood. They are absoutely crazy nuts on a doctrine that was going beyond to begin with. Ask a witness where it talks about blood fractions in the bible.
