the GB's coup of the FDS
by Magnum ini believe the gb's takeover of the fds was an illegal coup - not illegal relative to the laws of land, but illegal according to jw "laws" or doctrine.. according to jw doctrine, the fds is god's channel of communication between heaven and earth.
before the coup, the fds was defined to be all the anointed on earth, and the gb was part of that group and merely the spokesman for the group - individual gb members having no more authority than non-gb members of the fds.. however, a few years ago, the gb, independently of the other members of the fds, decided that it alone was the fds.
that, to me, was an illegal overthrow of the body (fds); it was a coup.. suppose the u.s. president decided that he has all power, and that he removed the powers of the u.s. congress.

clearly the guys on the gb have very little business sense to let things get so out of hand with tons of projects in the works and having to close all of them except for warwick, and one in england.. i have to wonder just what type of math these dead heads on the gb even know or consider when making all their plans for the future of the corporation they have leadership over.

I guess their biggest business is their 1,000's of rental properties (KH & assembly halls) that costs the corporation NOT ONE PENNY to build and maintain. Incredible. Only in the name of religion could a scam like this work.

Sour Grapes----Jehovah's witnesses are not workers for the corporation, they are the corporation's customers, and the product they buy from wat corp is hope to live in paradise. Each donation is a payment for that hope. When Lett says they need more money it's simply raising the price of their product, the hope. Making a payment. makes lots of witnesses feel good, spiritual, god is smiling at me.

Walmart runs sales, restaurants have a daily special, tire shop advertises buy 3 get one free, wat corporation asks for more money, and people give and it makes them feel good because it is another payment for the hope of living in paradise.and that paradise hope is what their product is. If they constantly were not asking for money they would not be running their business well. They are not going broke, they've successfully changed from a begging, printing business to a begging, media, internet, real estate rental business. Rolling in money and can't spend it fast enough. Keep sending that money in and make jehovah smile and a better shot at paradice. Any other scenario it wouldn't work but in the name of religion common sense is out and hands go in the pockets and come out with cash. Anyone think the corporation was a little jealous of the 100's of millions the TV evangelists pull in every week? We have to get a piece of that. So they added JW.ORG to their business model as well..

Witness Royalty and the last day at the "Towers"
by Lynnie inmy uber elder cousin and his wife got the "privilege" of having one last "toast" of wine at the rooftop garden at the towers in nyc since the jw's are vacating to warwick.
his oldest daughter and son in law are quite high up in the inner circle so they get invited to all the "inner circle" activities.
even though they aren't supposed to toast to anything it was pretty darn close.

Pete. I was there in the 1960's, was in my early - mid teens. When the split happened we had to go. Bob Gott and Fred Hilmo were the two presiding overseers respectly. We probably knew each other.
