I didn't even click on this theme at first, but now that song is going round and round in my head and I just can't get it out. I hate it when that happens.

Song- "we're Jehovah's Witnesses" in honor of this weeks WT study
by stuckinamovement inthis was the last song of the service meeting this week.
the new version sounds like a death march anthem.
the melody has changed and i think the words have also.. i truly used to like that song and it was one of the first song's i could sing as a kid.

Were you 'alive in '75' and how was that year for you?
by punkofnice ini was a junior borgite in 1975. i remeber looking at the calendar at work in october and thinking: 'armageddon isn't here yet.....and it doesn't feel like it will be here anytime soon either!'.
i was surprised that jehovah hadn't obeyed the superior command to bring the big 'a' as instructed to him by fred franz.
how dare god disobey the jw leader!!!!!.

I was 25 in '75. Could say I was stepping over the line as far as the truth was concerened. Double life. Working with a wild bunch of worldy guys, drinking, rock and roll, muscle cars with a girlfriend in the passenger seat. BUT I NEVER doubted that it was the truth, and felt a sense of relief "A" didn't hit in "75. Really believe it would be soon--like any minute. Then I remember a brother began to talk about prophesy YET to be fullfilled and I began to wonder why the Society jumped the gun so bad. Anyway I got myself settled down.

Wow, This is Getting Tougher!
by Franklin Massey ini'm having a really hard time giving my meeting parts.
i had a service meeting part this week and i could hardly get through it.
i am no longer convinced of some of the things jws teach and so i try to either eliminate those things from my parts, or reword them so that i'm not speaking about that which i do not personally believe.

I also understand. Body used to asign me to any major service meet blood part. Reason being the friends knew that I personally had to make a stand on blood issue. When part came out about fractions and conscience matter the body discussed who should do it. ME. That was the first part I refused to do. One bethelite kept stressing that just because it is a conscience matter it doesn't mean any decision you make is right with Jeh. So my reply was if this way or that way was wrong why can't the FS say so? They tell us right and wrong about everything else. At the time I did not realize it was all legal manuevers. Anyhow none of it felt right to me and I didn't do the part. Soon after my wife screwed up real bad, I told the body I was stepping down. They FOUGHT with me not to. I told them I no longer had freedom of speech in veiw of my wife's actions. They said that was all on her, but as the head of my house I did not agree. I stepped down, and knew I would never serve again, as questions were beginning to bother me too much. So, all I can say Franklin, do what feels right in your heart, be honest with yourself, tell the body you are under a great deal of stress (true) and you are taking a break from talks. (No details, it's not their business until you want it to be). Let them deal with it.

Ambersun, those type of experiences used to make me nuts. Then I figured in the 3rd & 4th world countries where those experiences always seemed to be, the KH was the only place that had a real toilet, and when you have to go, you have to go.

So, GB took a wrong, but somewhat defendable doctrine and made it so much worse to defend, what you can do, cannot do, can transfuse, can't transfuse, it is just beyond ridiculous. What surprises me is that there are doctors in bethel, aren't they able to rein in some of this foolishness. One dr. I knew personally at Wat Farm is very well respected in the org as well as the local hospitals. Why aren't they a voice of reason to all this blood crap? They can't possibly believe that Jesus through spirit is directing what you can and can't do with blood. I'm sure not even GB believes it.

They are not protecting their livelihood. They are not fishermen, they are pirates. If ships dumping waste were the issue they would be pirating THOSE ships, not private pleasure and commercial trade vessels.

Reminds me of a a presiding overseer, full time pioneer window washer brother that used to be in my cong. He would often say if it wasn't for the truth he would be making high six figure salary. Mind you, he went from HS to pioneering to Wat Farm, married, was not accepted back to the farm. Know idea what inflated his ego. Six figures---only in his dreams. He finally moved away, story was he and wife had to care for family member. Real story was he and wife were suppose to inherit that family member's home and property. Heard it all never worked out. Moral of the story---you can say anything you want, talk is cheap, and being a JW you don't have to prove it or back up cheap talk because the ministry comes first. It is irresponsibility to personal growth.
