June Service Meeting part: Marriage, separation and divorce

i'm curious as to why this is a national topic for a service meeting part?

has anyone any thoughts on this?.

Quarterback, this part was also considered in the German congregations. I found it extremely boring. But then again, the midweek meetings are boring by nature. My best guess, it is becoming a big problem that married JW divorce and remarry without having the correct "Scriptural Grounds". Quite a big part of the new elders book focused on this problem too.

If it would come to a JC, having given a blood donation to get it transfused during the operation might be seen as a determined and thought-through action, increasing your chances of getting DF'ed. Be aware of JW amongst the hospital staff. It does not matter to them that the whole issue is full with inconsistencies. Abstract policy based upon a possible interpretation of a bible verse is more important than a human life.

Best way to step down from being a servant

hey i'm wondering if anyone can give some good advice on how to step down in the safest way.. i have served as an ms for a number of years, but can't do it anymore.

i know too much i want to fade in the future when i get some family things straightened out.

i can't move right now so that's out unfortunately.. what should i tell the body?

Most important, don't give them any concrete information to work with. When we got a sheperding call by 2 elders about my more than 1 year inactivity in FS, I told "something" from within me prevented me of going out, I could not bring myself any more to it. They tried with the "Field service is very important" approach and the "we would like to use you more, but for that you need to go in service" tactic, obviously without result. My wife and I had a good laugh when they left. They were absolustely clueless as to what the real problem is. So much for elders guided by Holy Spirit LOL.

Remain vague and inconcrete. It will make their tactics less effective as it does not give them any idea where to point at.

Maze, you are under the influence of the Society's mind control, just as we all once were (or most of us). Cults do not deliver upon their promises, JW are no exception. Armaggedon did not come yet, although it has been announced with great fervor since more than 100 years. The so called love in the congregation is a fairy tale, and is utterly conditional, you certainly have seen and experienced that yourself. This is happening BECAUSE it is structured that way by the society, it is intentional. You will get a nice touch of reality when you turn infirm and all your friends reduce their contacts just because you cannot go out in service any more. Just realize that the 75% of active witnesses will never talk to you again if you admit you are a regular poster on discussion boards like these.

The standard fade combined with claimed feelings of depression and worthlessness will achieve a safer exit. The method outlined in the OP, will put you on the elder's radar and make you loose time in studying the same doctrine for the 1001 time. Just my 2 cents. I am on my way out now, fading slowly but surely

Hi Maze,

Let us return to the subject of this thread, reform. Let us talk about Judicial Comites. Judicial comites and their procedural rules are problematic, to say the least. As far as I know "judicial comite" is nowhere in the bible.

But even if it was, the biblical standard of judicial matters would at least be public one. Judges in the israel of old made decisions in the city gates, open to the scrunity for everybody. So tell me Maze, why are judicial comites behind closed doors? Which bible verse prohibits there to be any witness of the judicial process? Would public justice not guarantee more correct judgements? Please answer.

if you really want to upset a jehovah's witness, refer to the watchtower as a cult.

that's pretty much a conversation stopper.. the watchtower denigrates the rest of christianity.

Maze, speak with any honesthearted elder about cleanness in the organization, and you will get confirmed that it is a fairy tale. Just ask an elder how many Judicial Comite cases your local congregation had in the last 5 years. You will be amazed. And remember, each and every judicial comite is about a disfellowshipping offense, a major sin. Jehovah's treasured earthly organization is full of adulterers, fornicators and alike, and because of the judicial comite system keeping everything secret, the rank and file bros & sis don't know who and how numerous they are. Most probably you have no idea either. The service dept. in bethel knows though. They have more than 20.000 pedophiles in their system. clean congregation? you're joking man... I have seen it my own eyes.
