  These statistics are snapshot from August. There is no effect yet from the ARC or the cutbacks, since all happened during the summer. And even in 2016 it might still be early. It takes a while for any JW to wake up and quit, what makes someone wake up today will only appear in the numbers much later. The decrease in preached hours is a telltale sign though

  Hello everyone! I am new here and want to tell you about myself - my bio

  grew up in east la in a bad neighborhood to a black mother and white father.

  i never knew my father because he died in a car accident when i was a few weeks old.

  my mother converted as a jw soon after when two sisters came to her door and offered her comfort, which was something she needed.

  Welcome. You paid already high prices to keep up an image of you that you are not. Your true self will win, sooner or later. Up to you to decide whether you shape the circumstances, or let it happen by others. Obviously the 2nd option is far more painful for all involved. And it might be late pursue your dreams when it comes. So think ahead, slowly withdraw yourselves without raising suspicions, and nobody will put so much efforts into stopping you as they did 1st time. Grow to independence, reduce your activity in the congo, and absorb yourselves into other wholesome activities (sports, hobby's, music...)

  How to evade questions from elders when you stop going out door to door

  due to circumstances right now i cannot leave permanently the watchtower, however i need honest advice of what to say when elders question me how come im not meeting the group out for door to door & going out in " field service"... what would be proper responses not to draw suspicions since i'm aware of ttatt.. .any serious advice please...

  If reporting hours is not a problem, just report fake numbers. You can always claim to preach these few hours with family members or with a friend in a neighbor congregation.

  If you do not want to report any more, and someone wants to make an appointment, set it up, and cancel it the night before. something unexpected has come up or whatever. If you that 2 times, they will not bother you any more.

  do you have feelings of hopelessness and fear for not having a religion?.

  do you envy happy jehovah witnesses and living their lives carefree?.

  1) I feel way better now than I did when I was an active witness.

  2) I do not envy the witnesses for the so called 'happy life', because it does not exist. I know 1st hand that it is just what it looks like, as soon as you start scratching the surface, all the happy faces are just covering a lot of unhappiness, and that includes the top ranking witnesses.

  Local Congregation Takes Away My Dad's Phone Hook-Up (HE'S 85 YRS. OLD)

  this happened about 6 months ago, didn't really have an opportunity to post about it (been busy), but they still haven't given back his password for the phone hook-up.

  they say that this is direction from the "branch office".

  i think it's complete bs, the real reason why they are doing this is to punish me & my family because i am basically a ghost when it comes to meetings & any type of activity.

  Sister attendants not able to give directions to a brother..Misogyny

  at our recent rc i was advised by a sister who was an attendant that they have been advised not to be able to give brothers directions as this should be dealt with by the brothers.

  apparently at the pre-convention attendants meeting, the sisters were asked to stay behind.

  this was when they were given the news that the brothers should deal with brothers.

  My sister is being harassed by the elders

  sometime ago i wrote here in this forum about the case of my sister, who decided to stop attending the meetings because she realised that the watchtower society is an evil organization.

  this happened more than one year ago.

  i am not living in the same country of my sister, so i learn about her case when she calls me or when she write me through whatsapp.

  Get a handy cam ready and post a video of the harassment on YouTube. Tell the elders it will go viral on internet in a couple of days, and they will be held responsible for bringing shame on gods name.

  i saw an instagram post showing a short clip of a talk being given in one of our southern states.

  the talk clip showed speaker making the statement, "jehovah doesn't want anyone to know satans real name, jehovah hates satan so much, he doesn't even want his name mentioned" .

  I thought that the witnesses held that Satan was doing everything to make people believe he does not exist. You do not fear an inexistent enemy, something along that line. Now it appears God is helping Satan by not willing to reveal his name... go figure...

  today's watchtower study article is all about jesus.

  this stuck out to me after a year of hanging out on here where one frequent point of criticism is that jws claim to be christians but never talk about jesus.. anyone think it's a coincidence that today was the "special talk" follow-up to the memorial?

  i think not - this is the most attended sunday meeting of the year, complete with many ubms, studies, and miscellaneous other potential victims who have been subjected to a coordinated effort to pressure them into attending.

  Yeah yeah, the ransom is for everyone, but you need to belong to Jehovah's witnesses to receive it... who then want to take Jesus place as mediator, and claim we are not part of the new covenant. Pharisees were small boys compared to what they pull off

  wife and i have not reported a single hour of fs in 3-4 months.

  while my wife is mostly doing for me (positive thing), i know she would have rather done it.

  elder asked me to turn in my fs report this past week and then he added... "we need to talk".

  just tell them you have nothing to report, sorry.

  Then they might impress on you the importance of preaching, and you go yes, I understand it, but it is not easy, my heart is not with it, I don't feel the same good vibes like I used to. Then he request you for an appointment, and you agree on next Saturday. On Friday night, you call him to say something has come up (no details its none of his business) . You do this 2 times in a row and he gives up. If you cancel a couple of appointments, the will stop.
