hi everyone, while you're out and about shopping please stop by circuit city and record (video) a holiday message for our fellow countrymen in the military who will not be home with us to share in the joy of the season.
let them know they are loved and appreciated and that we wish/hope/pray for their safe return.
several friends and i recorded one this week-the line moved fast.. more details: http://www.messagefromamerica.com/public.html.
I almost missed this thread.
What an excellent idea. Thank you for bringing it up. Circuit City just bought up some of the electronic chains up here, I'll see if they are tying it in with our US cousins.
IF not, I will be down in the States soon, and will record one then.
Thanks again Seven.

imagining the beauty of a loved ones face, long departed.
remembering a single moment in life that causes your spirit to sing.
having that sensation that you just awakened to a whole new world, filled with that tingle in your stomach feeling, you had when kissing your very first lover.
Amazing thread!!! I've enjoyed reading all your thoughts.
It has oft intrigued me how one sense can trigger so many memories.
Smell for example. A familiar fragrance, reminds you of a loved one from the past, there is a Herrod's special blend that will always remind me of a very special couple no longer in my life.
The scent of lilac bushes instantly re-acquaints me with my late paternal grandmother. To play in her backyard edged by tree after tree of lilacs.
THe smell of cut grass, transports me to a simpler time living in Massachusetts and cutting the lawn and hacking through the overgrowth on the empty lot next door.
Sounds can do the same... that special song bringing a loved one into your room while sitting alone...the memories of holding her tight, swaying to "Wonderful Tonight" Recalling the sense of complete oneness the first time together as "Everything I Do" played in the background.
I think my cat must be related to your Danny. Also a long haired silverpoint grey cat..white underbelly and white beard and crest. His personality is similar as well. There is something strangely quieting and peaceful having an animal fall asleep on your chest purring away contentedly.
I think of the joy of having the love of my life, leaning against my chest, my fingers playing with her long hair, as she tells me about her day, turning silent and having her dose away feeling completely safe and protected in my arms.
Then there is food!!!! to savour a tender moist cut ..perhaps a filet mignon, perfectly prepared, putting it slowly into your mouth, savouring every texture as it passes onto your tongue... expereincing all the tastes of the spices, the bacon, the steak itself. Then raising your glass of 1998 Merlot you have saved for this special meal, the rich bouquet tantalizing your palate as it is drawn to your mouth. The rich flavour as the wine attacks your taste buds, causing them to tingle ... then to see the person you love, watching you so intently as you passionately savour the meal. ahhhhhhhhhhh
who needs some stinkin make belief paradise when there is so much to enjoy and be passionate about now!!!
Kismet
ok people!!!!
you might have noticed i haven't been around as much the last few weeks.
i started a new full time job in the cosmetic industry.
First good luck with your new enterprise!!!! You'll do great.
Brainstorming is also a wonderful idea..especially with the creative minds lurking around here.
My suggestions? How about just:
Ra -with fancy Egyptian style script for the letter R
Ra'Chelle du nuit
Or why not be the "IT" girl. You can go nuts with marketing ideas.
IT the make up for the new generation
Hook up with IT for the fresher prettier you
With the latest fragrance from Rachelle's "IT" line, you are IT at any function
Corporate "IT" keeps you connected.
Kismet - discussion regarding royalties can be had by email...
i got to thinking the other day about how jws, at least when i got married in the hall could not use secular music for the ceremony.
we there fore were forced to use kingdon melodies.
anyone else have fond memories about your wedding song?.
For the aisle march , the two most common were "shulamite Maiden" and "Marriage is God's arrangment" (best sung to the tune of the Muppet Show theme song)
As far as the first song at the reception... it was wide and varied and changed through the years (I was Djing Witness weddigns since 1986)

i want a "normal" family.
i want to go to my mom's home on christmas.
i want to fight with my husband about whose house we are going to this year - his mom's or mine.
May I suggest 'adopting' a family for Christmas. A few ideas..
Go to a local nursing home - spend some time with folks who's family is too busy to visit them
Organise a sleeping bag/blanket drive and distribute them to the homeles
Go work at a soup kitchen with your husband
Go to a local Childrens' hospital with little trinkets.stuffed animals. bring boxed turkey dinner to one or two families there.
Christmas is about sharing something with others. If your own family is not available adopt one somewhere.
Kismet
from everyone that you all know here, what do you suppose is the best christmas present solution for that person/s?
what do you think that person would get the most fun and enjoyment and appreciation out of?.
name them, and the corresponding ideal present, from your perspective.. peace.
