The Meaning of Names....?
by SpiceItUp inthere are some that are obvious and then others that just baffle me to no end..... yes i am talking about your user names.... do any of you have stories behind them or are they significant for some reason or are they just a word you made up?.
mine...well its easy.... i got the nickname of spicy back in nov of last year when i dyed my hair this crazy red color and the name of the color was "spiced ginger".
the rest of it is because i love to make things more interesting---- sorta of like adding a bit of spice to the stew (hopefully i come across as that as well .

"He wants me to write to the Society and see what they have to say."
If your husband can't defend the WTS's stance on these issues, perhaps he should write and ask the questions. Regardless of which one of you writes, the results will be the same, a visit from the elders. Surely he knows that, but he is asking you to stick your neck out. But whatever you may decide, Spice is absoluty correct, you will receive support from the folks on this forum.
Best wishes

We have two neutered cats who do not appreciate each other as much as they should, but they are not having to fight other cats-now if they would just stop fighting each other !! However, if someone did that to me, I would leave home.

Newsweek Letter Writer Silenced
by silentlambs inthe following email was sent to me today, if anyone would like to send and encouraging comment to loris i will be glad to forward it to her.
all she did was tell the truth and now she is facing sanction in the congregation.
so according to wt pr you are not sanctioned if you go to the police but you are sanctioned if you talk about it.

One of the fallacies of JW thinking is that persons who are DF'd or DA'd will be out in the cold, cruel world, friendless. That is not true, as you will have plenty of real friends after the "worse" happens. Why people can drop their friends and relatives because some tells them to do so is beyond me. Most of the people on this form are truly caring individuals and, as such, will make good friends, and will not judge you for telling the truth.

What Are They Really Saying Now?
by Englishman ini must confess, i am intrigued as to how panorama has affected the jw's who watched it.
my old pal, mr dub-in-the-pub, just shook his head miserably over his guinness after denying having seen it.
now he wants to borrow the video recording i made.

One sister who is a trained counsellor said that the society were on a learning curve, just as everyone else is in the world and she's glad it is being sorted out at last.
This "sorting" has been going on for over 100 years, 50 years that I can remember. How long does it take to "learn??"

Would you welcome a pity visit?
by kenpodragon inwith all the talk about shunning in the religion, i was wondering if anyone remembered that the elders occasionally visit the shunned?
i call these "pity visits", in that they are basically going down to the slums to see if the lepers want some medicine to lessen the pain.. .
it seems to me that such a visit would be very insulting, not so much because of the above thought.
