Razor,
This is the first time I've ever seen Marg Delahunty, but it was enough of a view that I am convinced she should be the big cheese in Canada, even tho I'm not a citizen. If you folks don't want her, send the lady south. Bug

top story
We currently live some 50 miles from Amarillo and some 60 miles from Dumas. I have been in contact with a young lady in Dumas who knew Larry Kelly and trying to make sense of what she said to me in the email and what was said in the paper is not possible. The dates are not jiving. I have been trying to contact another ex witness in Amarillo to try and make sense of all of this but he is apparently out of town right now. Will update you on this as soon as I know anything. Bug
nat turner was born in 1800 in southhampton virginia.
he was taught how to read by his master's son and over the years he became very religious and served as preacher for the slaves in the area.
nat turner felt that god had called on him to lead his people out of slavery.
If someone made a slave out of me I would, no doubt, be somwhat upset also. To answer your question, it would be difficult to kill women and children, so perhaps he should have been a bit more selective, but remember, he had no training in this sort of thing, just his rage at being treated so badly. His rampage did have one result, it scard the daylights out of the slave owners.
it seems that americans are keen to get amongst the big boys when it comes to soccer skills as can be seen from the embedded page futher down this post.. however, i have a sneaky feeling that americans might well be lacking in the genetic skills department when it comes to actually understanding the finer points of the noble art of soccer, let alone having any natural aptitude for the game.
this is a an excerpt from a book by bill bryson, a very popular american author who keeps us brits amused for hours with his experiences of living in england.this is bill's account of his first ever attempt to play soccer:.
"i had watched football (soccer) on tv and i thought i had a fair idea of what was required, so when one of the team lofted a ball in my direction, i decided to flick it casually into the net with my head, the way i had seen kevin keegan do it.
However, I have a sneaky feeling that Americans might well be lacking in the genetic skills department when it comes to actually understanding the finer points of the noble art of soccer, let alone having any natural aptitude for the game. This is a an excerpt from a book by Bill Bryson, a very popular American author who keeps us Brits amused for hours with his experiences of living in England. This is Bill's account of his first ever attempt to play soccerThe gentleman seems to be overlooking the fact that most Americans can trace their ancestor to the British Isles, this Yank included. So, it stands to reason if Yanks are genetically inferior then you so are you Brits. Don't brag too quickly, it may come back and bite you in the arse.
i posted a thread about sending a letter to my jw best friend yesterday i think.
while doing that, i thought about a friend of mine who i went to school with, and we were already friends, but she saw me give my english teacher the "school brochure".
after i left the portiable, she asked me if i was a jw.
Dear Jesika,
When I read your previous post about wanting to find your friend, I thought, uh, oh, she's setting herself up for a let down. There are times we can be happy we were wrong and this is one of those times. As the Aussies say, "good on you Jesika!!!" Bug
i believe that before you can love another, you must love yourself first.
some seem to loathe themselves.
others seem to adore themselves.
I love my wife. I love my kids, my brother, even if he is still a dub, my friends, including those I've made since signing onto this board, hell, I even love my neutered cat who is laying by my chair right now. However, I can't say I love myself although I do respect myself. Bug
...and i'm feeling pretty good right now.
i quit, cold turkey, this morning.
it's been almost 24 hours since my last cigarette.
Years ago I worked in an establishment that sold oils, gasoline etc. and our best customer was a fellow of about 60 that suddenly came up with persistant sore throat and cough. When he went to the doctor it was determined he had throat cancer from 40 some years of smoking. Surgery, according to him, took out everything except what it took to hold his head up and he had to learn to talk thru a hole in his throat. They got the cancer but what a price to pay.
In short, keep it up, smoking will eventually kill you, at least it does most people. I managed to quit cold turkey when I was 34 after some 17 years of puffing, and I will be the first to admit it is the hardest thing I ever had to do in my life, but the results are worth it.
Hang in there Aztec!! You can do it!!! Bug
30?
40?
yeah yeah, i know youre only as young as you feel, but is a 35 year old middle aged or young?
I suppose I'm middle age, doesn't everyone live to be 132 ??
what would you call a person who drinks to the point of near-unconsciousness?
every week?
who can't deal with personal problems and/or set backs any other way?
dry drunks are worse than wet drunks in many regards
Man o Man, did you ever hit that nail on the head. Before I retired a bunch of us would leave work, once a week, and go to the local wine shed, drink some beer and tell war stories. Well this one guy always stayed after the rest of us had gone home. Until one day he announced he was no longer drinking and had "found Jesus." Did he ever become a royal pain in the a**!! Since he wasn't going to the bar anymore he expected the rest of us to follow his lead until one guy got in his face and told him, in no uncertain terms. to butt out. Then he decided we were all a bunch of drunks. Oh well, takes all kinds. Bug
our two eldest sons and their wives went to las vegas for the week today.
i have the 2 year old son of one son and the 14 year old daughter of the other son, for the week (until friday).
the girl (carlie) is an absolute dream, so helpful and has a great personality, but she goes to school everyday.
I can remember when our daughter was that age and smarter than the two of us adult parents put together. Keep up with her was sort of like keeping up with fast moving butterfly. If I lived close to you I would do anything I could do to help you with this kid, except keep him/her (I forgot which) for you. In the words of Roy Rogers "may the good Lord take a liking to you." Bug
