Princess, the way I understood it, the explosion split one of them into two. They left both of them in the sack. Makes me hurt to think about it. Bug

Believe It or Not!
by Steve Egner indriving home after a long bike ride last sunday, i turned onto my street, just a couple of blocks from my home.
clad only in lycra bike shorts and jersey, i had my window down, my shades on, and a nice endorphin buzz from a great outing.
without warning, a large, dense, golf ball sized pine cone from one of our towering neighborhood evergreens careened through my window like a meteor, and nailed me right on my left testicle.

Hmmm.... does that mean you now have three balls?
That's not funny RR. When I was a kid I actually knew a fellow who had three, not by choice. He was in Europe in WW 2 and a hand grenade went off too close to him, damned painful, according to him. The good news, he fathered at least one child so all was not lost. Bug

Guilt over getting an old friend DF'ed
by Ciara ini've been thinking about this guy i used to know when i was a jw.
we went to school together and were in the same congregation.
he was fading, but one day me and my dad were passing a convenience store and we saw him smoking outside.

Ciara, you really didn't ask for advice but I'm going to give it anyway. Find the young man and apologize. If he is still in the military he could use a letter from you, especially one in which you apologize. This will, no doubt, help him and it will help you put the incident behind you. Just my 2 cents. Jumping on the bandwagon here, go see your mom. If anyone tries to stop you tell them you are going to start a fuss that will make the paper and telvision news. The last thing witnesses want is bad publicity. Bug

Suicide Prevention
by ApagaLaLuz ini just wanted to drop a quick note.
last thursday a good friend of mine jumped off of a freeway overpass and killed herself.
ironically it was the same overpass that just 5 years before i had stood atop and climbed the fence with similar thoughts in my head when my family had initially disowned me.

Unfortunately it's the 3'rd time I've experienced. Kinda makes me wonder what I'm doing wrong ya know?
You have done nothing wrong, and you are not responsible for someone elses actions. Having said that, I had a nephew commit suicide approx three years ago and I have wondered ever since if there was something I could have done to help him. This will be with me until I die. Bug

Elder Comes To My Mother's House To Inquire of Minimus & Family
by minimus inmy mom told me yesterday that my friend (while growing up) who is an elder again, (after years of mental problems), came to her house and inquired as to how my family and i are doing.
he said we have become a subject of conversation at a recent get together..... of course, my mother started crying, told him to ask me himself and told him she did not wish to talk about this subject since it severely depresses her.
he backed off but shortly asked again.

Min...do you see the price you pay for being so popular. They just can't picture paradise without you.
You know, I can't picture this place without mimimus. It just wouldn't be the same. Bug

My friend, if you think middle age sucks, wait until you get to old age, then the problems really start. Bug

Face it Big Tex, you aint no kid anymore. You are at the right age to need glasses. I am surprised he didn't give you a prescription for new glasses.
I was told by an eye doctor that around the age of forty your face starts to change which affects the eyes to the point the optics change, thus causing a need for glasses. This also happens to kids going thru puberity, such as my son. He had to get glasses at the age of 13. Bug

This is one of the most uplifting posts in a long time. The reason I'm so happy about it is because I quit at the age of 34 after smoking some 17 years. Having done that I well know what you went thru to kick this habit. I will not smoke again because I don't wish to quit again. If given a choice to quit smoking or go thru basic training, I would choose basic training, it was that bad.
Having said all of that, and assuming the military keeps you under some weight restrictions, please weigh at least once a week and do what needs to be done to keep the weight down because it will start adding up. When you cease smoking food tastes and smells better so you tend to eat more. Also your metabolism is raised by smoking which tends to keep weight down. Now you will have a lower metabolism so you weight will tend to rise, so exercise more.
Congrats. You can be proud of your accomplishment.. Keep up the good work by refusing to smoke again.
