They’re making it harder and harder to ~~disfellowship~~ remove wayward ~~members~~ adherents for two reasons…

a) …the courts are able to effectively demonstrate just how truly injurious and heavy-handed it is to individuals, and as such, it’s putting their charity status at serious risk, and…

b) …the longer a ~~disfellowshipped~~ removed individual remains out (or, rather, the more heavy-handed the discipline has been), the less afraid they’ll be to start looking at “apostate” material on the Net, and the less likely they are to ever come back.

The Org can no longer afford either.

What would happen if the religion just straight out gets outed as bad? The ORG admits to it and all the members get told to disperse

like the org just gives up and comes out saying that all of what they are saying is untrue and that there is no armageddon, nothing.

how do y’all think the the members still in it would react?.

Yeah, if anyone thinks there’s some grand long-term master plan at work, they’re very mistaken.

For one thing, the Org’s entire theology precludes long-term planning.

Assuming you’re talking about the ministry, it’s ironic, given that that particular load became so heavy only because they needed the Mississippi-sized paper trail to qualify for charity-status, instead of doing actual charitable acts.

Was anyone removed from Bethel for suggesting the Governing Body were the "Faithful Slave"?

i remember reading somewhere a reference to ones at bethel being removed for suggesting that the governing body was the faithful and discreet slave, years before the org.

made this change.

am i wrong about this?
