We’re seeing the Borg trying to project the appearance of reinventing itself.
Not quite the same thing.
this is the watchtower study article being studied today.
so it’s the current new light!.
what are the new qualifications to be an “elder-aka older man...and circuit overseer?.

Beth - “…the Borg never saw the internet age coming…”
The Borg never saw the 21st Century coming.
They’re struggling to adapt to an environment they never even imagined would exist, let alone have to survive in.
not sure who wrote this list a while back but i think it is worth a repeat....to be added to or subtracted from or modified...whatever.. what's wrong with the watchtower.
"overlapping generations" - this teaching makes no sense.
the word used by jesus is in the singular, not plural form.. .
What’s wrong with the Watchtower?
I’m no expert, but the “nightmare” stage of the “Wishful Thinking” phenomenon comes to mind.
the police have started an investigation where a woman has courageously come forward about her sexual abuse by a former elder, who had a record of doing such things with the local congregation, and i think it was all covered up.
they have charged him, he is claiming he is not mentally fit to appear in court, i hope that lie does not hold up !.
this case was unknown to the local elders, but hopefully will now give the strength for other women, who were all very young and very vulnerable at the time , to come forward as well.
@ liam…
Try to remember that correlation does not necessarily equal causation.
😏
a post from another exjw site, shows how throughout the years, in a regular, systematic fashion, the watchtower has influence thoroughly; an ideological point of view, in the minds of it’s members by using bible scriptures and examples, to get the members to do the unthinkable, even if it clashes with modern ethics.
february 2016 watchtower, paragraph 3 of the article titled .
"learn from jehovah’s loyal servants".
In fact, it actually reminds me of something the alleged insider “redsetter” claimed in one of their posts back in the spring…
…that the WT leadership is actually expecting secular governments to “attack” them soon, specifically using CSA as a pretext (with the Great Trib presumably kicking off right after)…
…and that they don’t seem all that concerned about eschatalogical continuity… i.e. if it happens before “Babylon the Great” is eliminated.

TonusOH - “…It seems as if they've gone from ‘even if we are wrong, you should still be loyal and obey’ to ‘even if we do something immoral and awful, you should still be loyal and obey.’…
I’d be lying if I said this hadn’t occurred to me, too.

I swear, sometimes it feels like the Org is actually losing its marbles.
The simplest explanation I can think of is the “nightmare” stage of “Wishful Thinking”.
For those who haven’t, Google it. It’s a real eye-opener.
i was slightly surprised to see that wythenshawe hall has been sold.
it's now a mosque.
this one had an attached flat where the co and his wife lived, i wonder what accommodation they put them in these days..
Adam - “I wonder what accommodation they put them in these days.”
can anyone else who was around 15 to 20 years ago remember an odd story about jw missionaries being stopped at the swiss/italian border with american bonds worth billions of dollars in their possession?
because i can find little to no information about it anywhere online, yet at the time i am sure i recall it being reported by different mainstream news sources, including the bbc.
why do some news stories seem to disappear from the internet altogether?
careful - “…Have you looked into any side effects from medications you take?”
And, more importantly, have you thought about sharing?
😁
jehovah’s witnesses boast that theirs is a “spirit-directed organization”.. see w88 3/1 pp.
10-17 (my life in jehovah’s spirit-directed organization).
they believe that their deceased founder, charles taze russell (who faced legal action by his wife for inappropriate behavior in his maids bedroom), is directing the modern-day work of jehovah’s witnesses.. after the founder, c t russell died, it was stated that he was still directing the work from heaven.. "though pastor russell has passed beyond the veil, he is still managing every feature of the harvest work.
Uncle Tony - “…Suppose that a doctor told you to avoid contact with someone who is infected with a contagious, deadly disease. You would know what the doctor means, and you would strictly heed his warning. Well, apostates are ‘mentally diseased’…”
Mental illness isn’t contagious, dumbass.
