A pale, whispery shadow of its former self...
...that I like to call the Branch Jehovians.
within the very documentary is a reason i think that jw's for the most part will not wake up even if they watch this program.
the one lady actually saw as her family sat behind the abuser in court supporting him despite the established fact that he had abused their very own child.. this shows how deep the indoctrination is.
i am not saying that some won't wake up, but the majority will carry on, not even because they think these things are lies but because they will look past that at all costs to side with jehovah.
i was thinking about this at work the other day, and realized the one positive thing i can truly credit the jws with: .
i have no fear of public speaking.
i was a shy kid, fat, clumsy, with crooked glasses and worse teeth, who wore hand-me-downs in one of the wealthiest counties in all of america, who sat still while classmates got up to salute the flag or recite the pledge of allegiance.
when i was a kid they implied that all animals and humans were vegetarian before the flood but i don’t know the scriptures they used, anyone know?

zing.
Seriously though...
...I think at this point, the Org no longer gives a hairy blue fuck about the “public eye”.
Discrediting XJWs in the eyes of the loyal rank-and-file, though?
Top priority.
And I suspect the vitriol and rhetoric is only gonna sound increasingly shrill (not to mention batshit crazy) in the near future.

one of the respondents on my post on mental illness stated that it was the same of ex jw's.
i thought about this for a couple of days and drawing from my personal experience, i can say that this is mostly true.
if one is disfellowshipped, the act of forcibly cutting off all ties to a jw's way of life is painful and in some cases inducing cognitive dissonance.

@ eyeuse2badub & Victor...
Tell me...
...would you still say that about religions that genuinely and fairly utilize the democratic process, embrace fiscal and policy transparency, foster authentic, positive community activism, and actually accept and respect the discoveries of history and science (no matter the implications)?
what were some of yours?
the big one in our hall was no frontal hugs!
these were generally thought of as inappropriate, only side hugs should be given between sisters and brothers.
