a few on here (and of course many on the ex-jw reddit forum) have mentioned that wt hq just recently (like in the past couple months) put out a video warning against the praising of jw actors, taking photos with them, etc.

to not do it anymore.

i recall as though it was only 60 years ago, sitting in the kingdom hall on those horrible chairs, learning of the four forms of love: agape, philia, storge and eros.. the watchtower never mentioned pragma.. pragma: this is a committed, compassionate love that often grows as two partners continue to cherish and care for each other.

this type of love is associated with being together for a long time.

in some cases, the passion of eros can grow into pragma over time, this forging a lasting bond.. i think i know why; the watchtower isn't into committed, compassionate, cherishing and caring, are they?.

…the key to the WT’s ~~retention of its charity status~~ financial survival has the net effect of neutering virtually all the things that they used to hold up as hard proof they alone had The Truth…

…which, in turn, further undermines the incentive to stay affiliated with the WTS…

…which, in turn, can’t help but further reduce the overall size of the membership…

…which, in turn, further decreases the Org’s donation-based revenue flow…

…which, in turn, places the Org’s survival at greater risk…

…and so on, and so forth…

No wonder they’re quietly scrambling to get their little real estate empire up and running.

Do children still get destroyed at Armageddon?

i know back in the day, that was taught, that if the parents were going to be destroyed, so would the children.

i just can't easily find reference to anything.

this thinking has been used to justify some egregious behavior towards children and their parents such as exclusion of children from jw family - why worry, the end is near, all will work itself out then - the end didn't come though.

Since the Bible contains plenty of instances where killing children was condoned by God, why would the prospect of this happening at Armageddon surprise anyone?

The abuse of JW org

awhile ago i said on here i would like to show how wrong the jehovahs witness organisation is , in that they will not accept the testimony of a victim of sexual crime where the victim has no other witnesses to the crime.

i faced this with helping my ex wife for about 15 years in exposing her father , an elder, to the jw org.

his raping of her over years and they believed him.. so therefore the perpetrator knowing of the organisations stance can easily deny and therefore be free to pretend to serve as an innocent jw still mixing with the congregation ,and also i have witnessed an accused perpetrator of child molestation witnessing at my next door neighbors house in field service with a child of another family even though the elders knew of the accusations against him.

The reason for the downvotes is, like I said before, the deliberate weaponization of the rule.

That weaponization has done so much fucking harm that oftentimes the mere mention of the rule triggers anger and anxiety, let alone any perceived defense of it.

The fact that the two-witness rule was weaponized so heavily by Ted Jaracz specifically to make it as difficult as possible to expose the problem (and therefore conceal his own alleged offenses) pretty much invalidates it as a tool for justice at this point, anyway.
