Should i go?

so, a good friend of mine, a pentecostal christian, invited me to go to a retreat with her church.

we're the same age-19 years.

we were friends before i became a witness and she was always patient and caring with me especially throughout my arrogant spell as a witness.

if this site were a religion, what would you name it and who would you elect as elders, ms's, co's, ect,,,,.

i'll start: i would call it the educated loveable and untouchables.

would love to be the elder that says no dissassociation allowed or disfellowshipping!

Mouthy, It's what they call the head honcho elder, head top elder. Forgot what it was called before. Now it is called the " coordinater of the body of elders "...... you know how they keep changing the language........sooooo pure lol......

i'm 19, and i'm still currently a jw.

i guess i'm a born-in, or whatever you guys call it.

i've had some serious issues with the faith at the moment, and sexuality is a huge part.

hello everyone, just wanted to say hi and introduce myself.. i am a mid 30's just stepped aside elder, who just couldn't handle it anymore.. i am a 3rd generation born-in and former pioneer and bethelite.

it has been a log somewhat confusing ride for me, but i am finally settling in to realizing that i need to really look at what me and my family are doing.. .

its funny though what really got me here... it wasn't the 40 year old men telling me they were looking at boobies on the computer and hoping not to get in trouble, it wasn't the watching young people bail left and right, it wasn't the ever changing new light etc... but a simple thought.. .

is it just me, or has anyone else noticed how few scriptures the society uses in publications and talks?.

as the information being force-fed gets more and more juvenile, stupid, easier to understand has anyone else noticed this trend?.

im not just talking about the wash-towel either; the circus oversneer just visited to give his bi-yearly whipping and he barely used scriptures in any of his talks.

And they put down the Catholics...Who have two bible readings every week one from the OT and one from the new. But how would any JW know what is going on down at the Catholic church? My husband told me...lol

Watchtower definition of extreme abuse ...... 2 witness's....2 trips to the hospital......2 broken bones...not counting fingers or toes.

It is all up to the elders, and what they think is EXTREME. Maybe they beat their wives too . So what I said may not be so EXTREME after all.

i'm a new member & i'd like to say hi to everyone, intoducing myself.. i am a 3rd generation born-in at mid 50's & an active elder.. english is not my mother language, so pls ignore any grammatical errors.

i live in a small country in europe.. i'd like to thank you for all information posted.

some of them have rally helped me to understand and examine again my beliefs.. last new light concerning f&ds=gb has verified the idea that they are popes in the position op pope.. i still believe in god & in his son jesus christ but not in the gb..

Welcome ! You are moving in the right direction. The GB is not God.....They act like you do not need Jesus anymore. You have them.

Now that you know that they are not Jehovah, and your eyes have been opened, you will notice how much praise they give themselves.
