Baptised at 14.. Df'd at 21.. Reinstated 6months later....Couldnt handle the emotional abandonment....Then faded ..I catch an occasional memorial, here and there..I still have family ties...But succesfully avoiding conflict for over 10 yrs......

Are you a fader, Df'd, DA'd, or Still In?
by brotherdan ini thought this would be an interesting poll that would show everyone the backgrounds of all of us when we left, if we have.. for myself, i am not df'd, but i am attempting a fade.
i still go to some meetings with the wife to help with kids, but that's it.
no commenting or field service.. what about everyone else?.

you have a son and you want to to get him vaccinated for whooping cough because it's going around.

i myself am a wittness, an anointed witnes .

Attended meeting last night

i parked and they went in well before me.

Do you miss "dressing up" for the meetings?
by dozy ini was thinking about this the other day when doing a bit of tidying up of my wardrobe.
all the kh suits are now pushed to the back of the wardrobe and i am seriously thinking about a visit to the charity shop to get rid of most of them.. for me one of the (few) enjoyable aspects of being a jw was getting dressed up.
my secular work very rarely involves putting on a dress suit & tie so i miss getting dressed up - smart suit , tie , shiny shoes , slapping on the aftershave.

No way! I was counseled on my very low-cut blouses ,that were "distracting" to the brothers. Which I thought were fairly conservative . Now I can totally be less inhibited ,in respect to my attire ..And truthfully ,its a non issue among peers,or for that matter a common strange...Funny how women are objectified...And made accountable for the lack of self control, in the male counter-parts of the org...

by JunkYardDog ini just spent about 45 minutes talking to this nice guy jw that became a jw about 10 years ago at the age 40. had a very interesting talk about wt history/ present truth.
the best part was what the wts lied to him about.
i get the feeling he will look up some of the stuff.

Growing up a Jdub always made my siblings and I ,well very sexually aware.Its labeled taboo in the org.Therefore using our god given brains ;we always questioned the subject.We were made very aware that human sexuality was innapropriate.Nevertheless, I was DFd early in life for premarital sex. I was reinstated 6months later.And as a result had to marry the Jdub,i was involved with.And at my JC,very intimate details were asked .We stayed married for 11yrs..Sex isnt dirty or ugly.And grown men ,actually get their kicks off these young oblivious souls. It was very humiliating.But as a female in the organization,I had no rights. And my protectors(parents)failed me.They actually turned me in..I will never let any authority question my children's personal lives...That is distorted and inane.I have faded out.Although,not completely,my x is still active.Therefore the children still have ties.I do my very best to educate their little minds.And treat them like individuals ,and not property. Its taken an eternity to began to lose my narrow-minded mentality.But I am on the mend.However I still have that horrible sense of vulnerability ,when it comes to those memories...Anyhow my thoughts are that these types of dating methods are a set up for; complete failure.And because women are to be submissive .A lifetime of misery for them.
