The latest July 15 WT - un-real.
by just n from bethel ini've been trying for some time to find the motiviation i needed to completely leave the cult behind.
i'm mean, do it emotionally as well as mentally (whole-souled, right?
), despite still having a lot of family and friends that are cult members.

Can We Please Stop Referring To The Simplified English Watchtower A The Dumbed Down Version
by Philadelphia Ponos ini really shouldn't have to say any of this but as someone who is in the process of learning a second language, i can tell that simple language makes things a lot clearer when you are not familiar with the language.
everyone on here started out reading simplified english while they were learning, including you native speakers.
i'm sure no one here was reading on a college level in elementary school.

I think we should all call it like it is. No offense to anyone. I think we should use the word "a ra-tard" from "the hangover". The ratarded edition just sounds cool. sorry if i offended anyone...

A Gem From This Week's TMS
by torn in two son inbefore i get to the gem in this week's tms, let me let any of you newbies here up to date with us jdubs and schooling.
in the february 22, 2002 watchtower, the wtbts released the article titled "how my dream was fullfilled".
it was one of many typical jw stories of a good devout jdub "resisting temptation" and accepting the borg as absolute truth.

actually, i think its pretty awesome that only 4.7% of jws have at least a bachelors degree.
Not to brag but i just got my bachelors degree. At 22 years old i rank in the top 5 percent of education of jws. thats hilarious. My college education was much more difficult than theocratic education. eventually ill get that masters or more. wonder what my elders will think when i go back for a masters.

they are miserable people who think they are being tortured by this "system of things" and their lives are so difficult
I always wonder why this is. They always comment on how tough things are and people barely get by. I think alot of them make there own problems whether it be money, health, etc.
I dont wanna sound high and mighty but I dont have financial problems, health problems. I guess im expected to give 90% of my paycheck to the watchtower to level the playing field so i can be like everyone else.

Id like everyone to share there most memorable meeting attendance they had. For whatever reason.
Id like to thank everyone for there comments who read my introduction post. They were helpful. I will figure things out.
So I was thinking the other day about the 100s or 1000s of meetings that I have prollly attended. The first thing that comes to mind is how boring some were. When I was in college I was attending a local congregation sometimes. Its kind of bad in someways. Anyways, I crushed up a couple percocets and snorted them and was higher than a kite on a thursday nite meeting. I got to say that was the best meeting ever. It didnt matter what they said on the platform. How could I disagree, I didnt care to disagree. For once, I felt like everyone else did COMPLETELY NUMB to everything that was going on. I was tryin to talk to people before and after the meeting. I was so quick to talk to everyone. I definetely was on cloud 9 at the time.
Also, wouldnt people outside of the religion think that the term "the meeting" sound very cult like or something. Anybody know what I mean. Like "the meeting" like something special is goin to happen or something were goin to miss.

As a woman in the truth what went through your head when you realized that us sister had to cover our heads?
by life is to short inok i was raised in the "truth" but no one ever studied with me.
my parents were abusive and i got nothing from them or anyone in the "truth" no bible study any attention nothing from anyone.. i read the great teacher book to myself at the age of seven, and when i was in my mid teens i started studying on my own with no help from anyone nor any answers my questions expect to be rebuked if i asked the wrong question so i quit asking it was god's chosen religion after all who was i to question anything.
i conducted the sort of study and this elder looked at me and said where is your head covering.
-

First wouldnt people that were studying think that witnesses were crazy cuz they were wearing head coverings.
Second, Like Jehovah cant tell that its not a woman under the head covering lol or anyone else for that matter

Where did you sit in the KH?
by Evidently Apostate inthe official wt understanding on where to park your butt during the meeting is to move around from meeting to meeting in order to get in more association or whatever but i never really saw things that way.
the kh seating arraingment at my hall went as follows;.
if you sat in the front you were really late or wanted to seem really spiritual.. the elders and pioneers always liked the same seats every meeting.. shiftless ones and those who wanted sympathy for thier back ailments would stand in the back during the talks.. ever had a sister in your hall bring in their own chair and footstool?.

I still go. I like to get there about 5 minutes before it starts. I leave as quickly as possible. I sit as far back as possible in the left or right. So nobody can see me when I fall asleep, lol
