I think the big news here is, once again, what faithful Jehovah's witnesses were taught to believe for decades and decades is once again, changed in an instant. Everybody is supposed to just accept it instantly.
That is bull S@!t to any thinking person. This is bound to wake some of the zombie like rank and file up.

So very happy to hear about your success story. I will bet that your daughter will help "escort" your younger daughter right out also. It will be difficult for your younger daughter to ignore what has happened with you and her sister.
Thanks for the update and keep us posted.

The GB of today sure hates Charles Taze Russell
by Eustace inthe whole concept of the faithful and discreet slave in the jw religion goes back to charles taze russell and/or his followers calling him the faithful and wise servant.
how in the blue blazes can they say he wasn't part of the faithful and discreet slave?.
quite a demotion, it must be said, from the faithful and discreet slave in the flesh to not even being a part of something that rutherford's lowly henchmen on the board of directors got to be a part of!.

What Made You Question "The Truth"?
by minimus inin the the early 1970's, i used to enjoy going to assemblies, conventions and hear special talks given by bethel heavies.. in those days, we were believers and we applied ourselves as "ministers" with pride.. once the "end" was obviously not within our "generation", many of us started losing interest.. we started to think more critically.
it took a long time but once you start recognizing the bullsh*t, it's hard to stay in and truly believe at the same time.. .

I remember when they changed the baptismal vows and I felt myself jump in my seat thinking "this isn't right" the Bible says baptise in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. What right do they have to change the vows.
Everything else crazy they used to come out with I chalked up to human imperfection, but this one I figured was really bad, If little ol" me caught this nonsense, they certainly should have.

Shunning - The Article that started so much pain and heartbreak (WT 1944, May 15)
by bats in the belfry inmy sister and i were just talking about this very topic this morning.
when jesus supposedly chose the watchtower society as the faithful and discreet slave in 1918, no one got disfellowshiped for anything!
how is it that now, in 2012, our disfellowshipping policy is used as proof that they are god's earthly visable organisation, in that they "keep the congregation clean?".

I guess Jesus just let everybody slide for the first 26 years!!!

My Baptism Story
by DT ini have been thinking about how the events surrounding my baptism may be of some interest to this board, so here is my story.. i began to talk about baptism when i was seven, but nobody took me seriously.
i let the matter drop until i was ten.
i was persistent this time so arrangements were made for the elders to go over the questions with me.. at the time, it was customary for baptismal candidates to study the live forever and united in worship books.

Interesting story. You were such a sweet little boy and wanted to do the right thing.
I was baptised at 17 in 1971. I just recently recalled how I had last minute doubts because I couldn't understand how the only true religion could be made up of such a tiny group. I asked the full time pioneer sister who studied with me how Jehovah's Witnesses got started. She said that it started with a small group of sincere Bible students who got together to study the Bible and realised that none of the religions out there were teaching the Bible. That sounded so quaint and I put all my doubts to the side and got baptised at the next district assembly.
Fast forward 39 years and I find out it was founded by a man who stole most of his views from the Second Day Adventists and who believed in pyramidology and all kinds of crazy stuff. Boy, was I mad!
The Watchtower willfully does not educate it's baptismal candidates about the true origins of the Society. They should be ashamed of themselves.
