Should i go?
by MsGrowingGirl20 inso, a good friend of mine, a pentecostal christian, invited me to go to a retreat with her church.
we're the same age-19 years.
we were friends before i became a witness and she was always patient and caring with me especially throughout my arrogant spell as a witness.

The story of Bo Juel Jensen - the man behind the Anti-Watchtower media campaign in Norway
by cedars inhi guys.
richard e. kelly has kindly contributed a great article to jwsurvey.org on the link below.... http://jwsurvey.org/child-abuse-2/bo-juel-jensen-could-he-be-watchtowers-worst-nightmare.
richard tells the story of bo juel jensen, an ex-witness who has been doing marvellous work in raising awareness of watchtower child abuse mishandling in norway.. as with most child abuse victims, bo's story is a disturbing one.

This is just another nail in the Watchtower's coffin. I won't be happy until they are five feet under.

Elder's 9 year old daughter sexually assaulted
by The Searcher inchrist jesus used illustrations constantly to help people reason on the truth.
following his example, i give an illustration here to put the spotlight on a disgusting, illegal, and unscriptural practice:.
brother org-love discovers to his horror that brother longserve has been interfering with his little daughter.

If someone had molested my daughter, they would have had to deal directly with me and the police, no congregation involvement whatsoever. What business is it of theirs. This bumb will pay...big time.

Would you read your child's diary?
by DATA-DOG inthis is obviously a question for parents.
i have made my decision, but i am interested in your views and feelings.
if you are a young person, i would be interested in your thoughts and feelings too.

My mother read my diary. It changed our relationship, and not for the better. I am 58 years old, and at the time, I was in 7th grade. I am still angry with her over this betrayal, even though she has passed away. If you decide to read your child's diary or snoop on them, I would not let my child know about it, that was my mothers mistake. She told me about it. Needless to say, she cut off my trust in her that day.

Love Thy Neighbor? Not my JW neighbors.
by jws ini live next to jw neighbors.
i was a jw 1000 miles away over 20 years ago, never here.
as far as i know, nobody here knows i once was, including the neighbors.. so there wouldn't be any reason for them to shun me.

Remember, they don't know you, they think you are in line for devine distruction and are deserving of it due to the fact that you are not one of Jehovah's Witnesses. They don't associate with "worldly" people, for fear you will want to be friends and corrupt them. " Bad association spoils useful habits," and you are bad association. You might even be demonized for all they know.

As a JW, how did you feel about shunning?
by jwfacts ini am interested in the answers for a new poll.
also, feel free to suggest other options, wording etc.agreed in full with the watchtower guidelinesagreed with shunning in general, but not for familywas stumbled by this practice but shunned as instructeddid not agree with the practice and secretly associated with disfellowshipped people .
for me personally, i did not agree with the practice and secretly associated with disfellowshipped people, even whilst at bethel.

Was raised a jw. Mother in law and father in law were df'd for smoking and all the kids and grandkids shunned them.
I was df'd for a year or so and was shocked that my mom and sister didn't shun me. I felt that Jehovah would be displeased. I expected them to shun me completely and felt I deserved it. I totally thought it was a good thing, a tough love situation.
Now that I have left of course, I think it is cruel, unchristlike BS.

Visited Beth Sarim today
by exwhyzee inmy sister in law has been shunned by the family since she da'd herself at the age of 18 and moved out of the house.
i always insisted that my wife keep in contact with her and made sure she knew she had a soft place to land, with us, should she need it.
even at the risk of it getting us in hot water with the pioneer, elder, bethelite family members there was no way we were going to let her disappear into the wild blue yonder on her own.
