I am so glad your family has one another to help you through this horrendous mess. You are more fortunate than you know. This is traumatic to leave your long held beliefs.

There are so many people waking up now, I find it encouraging. It draws attention to the fact that the Watchtower is a scam. Hope your friend is able to come out of this with minimal discomfort. Let him know he is not alone. It was such a comfort to me when I found like minded people here on JWN.

A JW husband emailing his ex-girlfriend after his wife reveals her apostasy
by JimmyPage ina woman i've known for years recently confided in me.
she told me she found out her jw husband had been secretly e-mailing his jw ex-girlfriend.
he was telling his ex about how difficult it had been for him since his wife was now basically an apostate.

Anyone who has ever seen the movie "When Harry Met Sally" knows that men and women can never be friends, "the sex part always gets in the way." That is not true 100% of the time, but close to it, IMHO.

Will Jehovah's Witnesses ever follow the lead of Roman Catholics in New York and encourage members to report child sex abuse to police?
by Sol Reform inand will they copy catholics by banning all child molesters from serving in kingdom halls?.
a spokesman for dolan (cardinal timothy dolan, head of the u.s. conference of catholic bishops ) said in an e-mail that the archdiocese of new york has had a policy for years that encourages those with allegations of abuse to report them to civil authorities, and that here are no known abusers serving in the dioceses.

The Watchtower Society thinks it is God's earthly visible organization and will never bow to the pressure of mortal man (unless it's going to cost them a lot of $$$$$).

CO's comments about loved ones vs. JW.ORG

do you feel that you are the only people who will be saved?00:0000:00. no.

Yes, Jehovah only wants to save those who have preached false scriptural interpretations from door to door, mindlessly, to the very end. He especially loves those who shun those who no longer or never believed the lies.

With the July 15 WT approaching, would this be the ideal opportunity to start an ACTIVELY VOCAL fade?
by Captain Blithering inby 'actively vocal', i do not mean openly criticising the articles and pointing out the inconsistencies or flipflops (not footwear, reversals).
i do mean letting people know that you're finding it hard to understand the new truth, and the fact that there is therefore old truth, or falsities, (is that a word?
it is now), therefore if there are falsehoods (that's the word, of course), then that puts into doubt the extent of jah's involvement in the preparation/dissemination of it all... (and making it clear you're not saying they aren't gods prophets on earth, just that you're not sure, don't know).. the reason i ask is cos i'm finding it hard to completely fade without an external reason.

Captain, I don't believe I have welcomed you yet.
I recommend you say something to the effect that you have been taking your issues (which will remain vague) to Jehovah in prayer, that you would hate to discuss it with anyone, because you don't want to cause divisions in the congregation. When pressed, say you just can't talk about it. Then fade, fade, fade. Let your wife see you studying the the Bible and the November 2013 Watchtower study edition with a concerned yet perplexed look, yet say nothing.

I have determined that a loving, reasonable god would not destroy someone because they refused to be associated with a religion that:
propagated false teachings for decades upon decades
falsely predicted Armageddon a number of times
was responsible for thousand of needless deaths of its members by forbidding blood transfusions, tranplants and other medical procedures such as vaccinations
published their own translation of the Bible to back up their interpretation of the scriptures
believes that God is capable of killing Billions of innocent people because Adam and Eve ate a piece of fruit thousands of years ago
and continues to change doctrine back and forth, back and forth
So NO, I'm never going back.

Is The IRS Targeting Religious Non Profits ?(watch out watchtower)
by frankiespeakin inhttp://secular.org/news/atheists-say-irs-not-doing-enough-hold-churches-accountable.
washington, dcthe secular coalition for america today sent a letter to the white house, pointing out additional internal revenue service failings, including neglecting to investigate churches and religious charities that engage in politicking from the pulpit.. in its letter, the secular coalition said religious charities have been flaunting their flagrant disregard for [irs] laws for years.
over 1600 pastors participated in last years pulpit freedom sunday, where pastors not only violated the law by lobbying and endorsing candidates, but filmed their illegal actions and mailed them to the irs.. the secular coalitions letter comes on the heel of another letter sent to the white house by franklin graham earlier this week, asserting that the irs is improperly targeting religious charities for investigation, including the billy graham evangelistic association.

I think they should lose their tax exempt status because they do not provide any service to the public. They are a cult who has very publicly falsely predicted the end at least 3 times. They demand that people die rather than get a blood transfusion, they forbid voting and serving in the military. They do no charitable work for the community. They are a hate organization that encourages shunning and break up families. They predict the destruction of the UN and all governments.

Let's get some more updates. These are very inspiring stories and may help the new ones here on the forum.
Me? I am going on 2 1/2 years without attending any meetings or service. The rumor is that I am an apostate and will not be coming back. I am avoided like the plague. No elders ever call me, no sisters ever call, no one acknowledges me when they see me in public.
My daughter and son in law who are in will allow me to come visit them but I am not allowed to spend the night (I live out of town so I have to get a hotel room). As long as I do not talk bad about the beloved Watchtower Society, they say they will not cut me off. My nephew who is an elder has no contact with me or his poor mother, who is also successfully faded. I do not anticipate any trouble nor do I plan on making any. I do try to enlighten all who will listen about the dangers of this cult, commonly known as Jehovah's Witnesses.
