21 Years as an Elder, 5 as an MS, I will never be that guy again.
by James Jack ini was deleted as the cobe after i let my adult child move back home and he admitted that he fornicated under my roof while my wife and i where away on a rbc project.
of course the elder mode in me kicked him out of the house.. the elders moved quickly to remove me because i was too involved in "theocractic activities", i had neglected my adult son.. i accepted this primarily because i didn't want to serve with a boe that did not want me.
i was devastated however because it was the only life i knew.

This would never have been tolerated just a couple of years ago. Obviously they didn't make this video in secret and the upper ups know about this. They are wanting desperately to hol on to the young ones. -

3rd Gen DF'd finally writing
by AFreeBeliever ini've been reading many of the postings on this forum for a couplefew years, finally joined today.
i think reading cappytan, and others like that, compelled me to share, it seems i might have a bit of a different outcome than many i have read, perhaps it will be hopeful/helpful to someone.. i was a born-in, 3rd gen jw, my entire family (parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and most all of my childhood friends) were in.
some dropped by the wayside as the years went on, but many stayed in, and if they didn't, they still acted/talked as if they believed it was "the truth" and it was their weaknesses/failings that made them stop attending.

Need to vent: Wife just went in full cult mode, huge fight. she is so brainwashed
by goingthruthemotions inout of the blue my wife started to ask me about my feeling about the borg.
i told her i didn't want to talk about it...she persisted.
she already knows how i feel, i told her that my biggest beef is that they use mind control, and yep she went in to how i was an apostate and how she doesn't want to be married to an apostate.

Ouch! This sure doesn't sound good! I remember a time when I felt the same exact way your wife does right now. My husband who was an elder at the time was doubting and I gave him heck over it and it was the beginning oof the end for us. I am now out, he is still in and remarried to another JW sister.
I sincerely hope you can work this out.

Welcome to the group. It was nice to hear you love your wife and families as well. Approach this with that in mind. Think about how you would want to be taught the truth about the truth. Keeping your family in a dangerous cult is not good. Be patient and move slowly and gently. -

started researching after finding out about ray franz, which inevitably brought me to this site.. i'm still well and truly inn, but don't want to give any information out, i'm sure you guys know the reasons.. since "jay double you .
org" came online, there has been a definite sense of hysteria with everyone who is "inn", and i get a feeling it's going to get a whole lot crazier as the years press on.. one point i would like to raise is that i feel, without a doubt, that 2034 is going to be the new finish line.

Where I was living ( in the 1970's in St. Louis, MO), if you dated someone you were "expected" to marry them. If you dated someone and broke up with them you would be accused of toying with your brother/sister's affection and you got a bad reputation. If one broke an engagement...forget it! We were told dating was for the purpose of marriage.
They were really hard on Ministerial Servants and pioneers. One of the young brothers was dating an elder's daughter and after the third date was asked by the elders, "you are going to marry her, aren't you?". He had just gotten out of Bethel and she was the first girl he had ever dated! He did marry her quickly but they never seemed happy to me.

This is taking some time getting used to. This format is more modern looking and I love the like button. It is nice to be able to preview what the topic is about before clicking on it. I am 60 and it is challenging adjusting to the changes.
