The Revelation Climax book was the one that truly convinced me how delusional the Watchtower Society was. They apply a lot of Scriptures to themselves. It is preposturous.

What is the most damning watchtower publication?
by zound ini want to purchase a couple of vintage watchtower publications to help in my helping jw's break free.
some of the older ones are expensive or hard to come by - i know you can buy them on cd's but i'd like to own one or two of the "classics of propaganda"- some of the ones that speak for themselves as to the ridiculousness of this religion.. of course any magazine i pick up today speaks to me of the ridiculousness, but you need something much more hardcore for the jw's.. any recommendations?.
"children" has some pretty good quotes in it..

What is your experience when you stop turning in time?
by gingerbread infor the past year or so, i've been turning in just one or two hours of service time.
it has been mentioned to me from an elder "friend" that i'm never seen at any meetings for field service.
i get his implication.

My elders called and asked for time and when I told them I didn't have any time there was dead silence for a few seconds and then they said
"OK" in a kind of dead sounding voice and that was it. -

by Gojira_101 inlast week a friend of mine contacted me out of the blue asking if we could have lunch together.
my friend has been studing with the jw's on and off for about 11-12 years i think.
she has told me everytime i see her that she can't wait for jehovah to end this evil world...she can't wait for the new system...the end is so close....etc.. i sent her a message back telling her that i left the jw's and asked her if she had heard that.

I wanted to punch this elder so bad!
by OneDayillBeFree inso i decided to attend the meeting last.
since i haven't gone in about 2 weeks, and i leave as soon as it ends, and elder decided to corner me at the end.
lately i've been through some very depressing family issues that are non-jw related so i haven't been my best at acting like i care about the org.

This elder is a bully but I bet you he backs off. I would skip meeting permanently from now on. He won't want to go head to head with you now that he knows you won't be submissive to him.
Good for you, standing up to him but not really showing him any of your cards.

Most of us have been where you are now. We understand and that is why we linger here, to help you.
My sister and I just quit cold turkey. Yes, we have family in, we took all those we could out with us. It was best for us, you must decide for yourself.

Many here will tell you to read Steve Hason's book about getting your loved ones out of cults. I second that suggestion. Proceed carefully.

Why Must A God Of Love Destroy The World/NonJWs? Why Doesn't This Cause Cognitive Dissonance?
by frankiespeakin indiscuss.. god is love but yet he hates.. god don't hate bad people he hates bad acts and yet he takes out his hate on people and not the acts.. god loved the world so much that he gave his only begotten son as payment to some mysterious debt collector so the world would live on and then he back tracks on the deal and decides they need extermination after all, except for a worthy few who put faith in the watchtower corporation.. i remember an article by the wt years ago that dealt with the topic why a god of love is going to destroy the world any quotes from it would be helpful..

Watkins: You are right, there aren't too many JW apologists on this board anymore. They are all waking up, we can only hope.
I have had go round and go round with my daughter about this...she is silent on the matter. She will not defend the Watchtower nor say they are wrong about Armageddon. This was a sticking point with me when I first started to wake up. I began seeing that there were many, many wonderful people who were not Jehovah's Witnesses and it didn't add up that God would distroy them. It seemed like Armageddon was the lazy way out, not the honorable way to deal with unrighteous mankind.
