@ 3Mozzies: I watched two of your videos and they are awesome. They ask good questions and offer a reasonable explanation about how religion has evolved and how history has been written and re-written.
Thanks for sharing!

satinka, ever since my teen years I have always wondered why the Goddess was eliminated by the ancients.
I love your comment, Heaven. I'm glad to see other women feel the same way. My feeling is that many entities wanted to be worshipped like gods and so consequently created patriarchal religions. By eliminating the Goddess and dissing women, they were able to accomplish their unbalanced goal of being worshipped and elevating men into something superior to women. Again, I feel it is out of balance.
I think Jehovah is only one of such entities.
Think of the fear that Jehovah desires from his worshippers. There are even scriptures in the Bible that refer to him as a "fear-inspiring" god. Sounds like he wants to be feared, rather than loved. I have heard from the platform that Jehovah is the "Great Patriarch." Abraham is another patriarch who is claimed to represent Jehovah.
For anyone to gobble up the Bible as being the only sacred book around...I feel the Bible was written with a view to selecting ONLY the books that support a patriarchal view --- and dismissing anything that included mentioning goddesses or women, unless these women supported the patriarchy and were subservient...like Esther. The JWs dismiss gnosticism for that reason. They also dismiss many good books of the apocrypha.

Sex dreams are great. What does that have to do with demunz???

The Gnostic Gospel in the "Wisdom of Solomon," Hokmah was equated with the Egyptian Goddess and called the all-powerful Mother... a spirit penetrating all creation, higher than the stars, fairer than sunlight (Barrett, pp. 143, 217-219). In the Gnostic gospel "On the Origin of the World" said it was [Hokmah] who gave birth to Jehovah himself, and taught him how to create the forms of living creatures, though she alone infused them with the power of life. (Robinson, p 176)
The above is quoted in B.G. Walker, The Crone. San Francisco, CA., 1985. pp. 51-2.
Shoot me if you want. I'm just sayin'

ok last time i went to the laudermat all i found was a trifold tract from the jw's.
they gave me so much room to write ( why do they do that?
) i wrote on there "when will you jw's stop leaving mags and tracts at this laundermat"...lol i wonder what will be there next week.. my friends works part time at payless shoe store.
My friend went back to that ailse to see if any shoes needed to be put away. She found Jw tracts stuffed in the kids shoe boxes and mags left under the boxes on the shelf.
LOL!!!...Yeah...the jw woman probably went back to the Service Meetin' and told the whole congregation about her new way of counting time! And the entire congregation thought she was brilliant and innovative!
Oops, I forgot... only "brudders" are allowed to be brilliant and innovative.

- some loser once took offense that i hugged a sister goodbye at a leaving do and ran back to the elders like a little child telling on me.
i was 15, this sister was in her 40s at the time.. - this elder said someone told him they saw me with a copy of the sun newspaper.
yes, this paper is known for its 'page 3' topless girls but far from pornagraphic and i wasn't even thinking along those lines.. - one brother who had a good job was 'counselled' because he was actually able to buy himself nice things including a new car (shock, horror!!
Brothers were counseled for wearing colored shirts.

thanks to all who helped me escape my imminemt baptism after 6 years of study.
it was a close call.. ive clearly been labelled spirituallly weak, as nobody has called here to say hi or anything and its been 2 monthes now....their divine justice for me i guess.
i did see my study teacher a while back when she dropped off my memorial invite, and that was after a chat, nothing to do with the wbts...seemed like it was an afterthought on her part.. they all know about my problems with agoraphobia and panic.

Hugs to you. I too love gardening, and find solace in digging in the dirt. Any day now the seeds will be poking their little sprouts out of the ground. I love the twittering of the birds in the cherry tree, the apple tree, the plum tree and the blueberries.
I am thinking you are a sensitive person. I am sorry to hear the JWs have not been very loving with you. I certainly understand what that feels like.
Love,

hello to jwn!
this is standfirm.
i mainly post on the topix jehovah's witness forum, but i decided to give it a try over here also.
Two questions about integrity...
1. Are you here counting service time?
2. Have you told your elders you are visiting an Apostate website? Guessing you haven't...If they were to ask you, what would your answer be?

i had to share this sad experience... even if it's not in my top priority list.. my older brother from my mom's first marriage unfortunately passed away last night.
he had been struggling with health issues, the last few years.
this is a very sad time in the family as you can imagine, specially because my mother lost her youngest son just five years ago.
Hi TastingFreedom,
My mom and I just came back home after a bittersweet trip. Bitter because of the loss of a brother, but sweet because he was honored as human being, and reconnected with family. ... I just wanted to report back that my mission was successful. My brother was given a decent christian funeral/buriel as he wanted. There were plenty of support from local Christian churches, it was actually overwhelming! There were no witnesses that could derail it, so that was great!
I am sorry for your loss. Please accept my condolances. I'm glad to know things turned out how your brother would have wanted.
