Had to sit through 'Creation Reveals God's Glory'
by Flat_Accent inwith my parents last night.. i had seen the dvd before but there was an overall feeling of awkwardness when they played it this time.. they both came diving into the living room anxious to watch it, and though my mum usually gets emotional when things like this are brought up, she kept her cool and decided to lay down some "facts".
things like "we are living in the last days, and the anglo-american world power is the last one.

I'm currently trying to educate myself on this topic, and it's surprising how much of Evolutionary Science is just common sense. It isn't convoluted and full of complicated twisted reasoning.
On a side note:
I read that whole thing in my mind with the voice of Christian Bale.

What a shame - but fortunate for the org
by Mickey mouse inas referred to in this thread, ray franz's book crisis of conscience, arguably the most important book for ex jws to read - has been out of print for months but is available from amazon at $100+.. internet explorer, probably the most commonly used internet browser - is not compatible with this website.. most young jws probably access the internet via a smartphone but good luck trying to post to this website on one.. .

by biometrics ini'm interested to know common phrases jehovah's witnesses use, but don't actually apear in the bible (even the nwt).
especially phrases most jw's would assume are in the bible.
e.g.. "paradise earth".

"this is a complete and total outrage," said mikey weinstein of the military religious freedom foundation, headquartered in albuquerque, n.m.. his organization sent a letter to the head of the marine corps, gen. james amos, and defense secretary leon panetta on thursday, demanding punishment for those involved.. it was the second time this year the marine corps has had to do damage control for actions of its troops.

On a side note, I just wanted to emphasize the fact that I don't think these guys deserve to be court-martialed, or removed from their post. It was a poor decision on their part, but it doesn't make them bad soldiers, per se.
However, the gentlemen that peed on the dead militant should be shitcanned immediately. That's a total disgrace.

I hadn't considerd that, james_woods. It's a good point. But the fact remains that this has been seen with a critical eye by many, which could also be bad for their morale. If they hadn't used it to begin with, the situation would have been averted. Instead, they may get the impression that people don't appreciate the hard work they do when they see negative comments start popping up about this.
Also, I wouldn't call an "SS" flag "their insgnia" though, because it's not. Much like if it had been a Swastika instead, it wouldn't be "theirs". It would be a borrowed symbol they chose to make themselves look like badasses.
