"if it was'nt for the preaching work there would be millions more witnesses" - he was saying jehovah wants quality not quantity.. si i'm thinking, what's the difference as long as he has a people that live by bible standards and are moral.

maybe sharing their hope and faith with friends and relatives on a casual basis?

how backwards is that?.

Talking about the coming of Armageddon, if you wait long enough, everything you wish for will happen...then he gave a few examples like a teenager getting his driver's licence or finishing school. At one point these events may have seem distant...but in time they were fulfilled. All I could think was that if we wait long enough we will all be dead...you morron.

The same CO said that repeating the same wrong statement over and over has people eventually believe that it's the truth...I thought to myself: where are the same things repeated over and over having everyone believing it's the truth?

These 2 statements were pivotal in my leaving the cult.

New Rooming Arrangement for some district conventions in the UK - what are they up to?

so i missed this letter below being read out last week - i got a look at it from the notice board this week.. from what i heard, this announcement was not received entirely positively as such, but there were apparently one or two for who this is a bit annoying.. staying at hotels for the district convention is nothing new here - many are used to staying at the same hotel/b&b/campsite every year, and get quite friendly with the owners.

but this year, it looks like not only do we have a new location for our district assembly (glasgow - the s.e.c.c.?

) but we are being told what hotel to stay at, supposedly to make things cheaper.. what i can't understand is, if this is really for the benefit of people, why didn't they do this years ago?

Blondie, a couple of months ago there was a news item on this site about city council approving a pay back to the WT for holding several DCs in their city...this may explain why the WTS wants its delegates to be visible around the convention site. If the WTS really wanted to give a witness to the city they would have us go out in the ministry as they did in the past.

Along with Cofty's comments, they even tell you how to dress when checking-in...and of course we all know that we must wear our assembly ID card at all times so the city residents can witness how much money JW conventions bring to the local businesses...makes it easier for city officials to justify paying a kick-back to the WTS...

they excuse it by saying, it's ok since at least they were on the watch.. i believe they should think about god's view of watchmen who constantly gave false pronouncements.

I wrote off several debts that were partly paid off by having the family member do some work as a token payment. On other occasions it was easier on me to simply wipe off the debt and forget about it rather than keeping worrying about ever being paid back. My only hope is that these JW family members still remember the good I did them and treat me accordingly now that I am no longer a 'brother'.

this happened about last week here in florida.

a bus carrying 32 jehovah's witnesses driven by a hired bus driver got lost on the way to west palm beach and crashed at the entrance of miami int'l airport.

dozens were injured and 2 passed away.

my wife ask me if im going to make up the assmebly, i reminder her that i in clean conscience can not go anymore,as soon as the word anymore came out the tears started flooding.

it hurts me to see her like this.

i talked to her calm trying to explain why i cant worship with doctrine that is so clearly wrong.

Cold Steel....I tried what you are suggesting for a long while because I didn't want to displease anyone especially my wife and family. When you know the truth about the 'truth' meetings, assemblies and the ministry become torture...I couldn't look at myself in a mirror without thinking what I fraud I was. I became depressed and came to the point where I wished I was dead. When I finally told my wife I was done with the meetings she cried and threatened to leave me but after a couple of days things slowly returned to normal. I'm convinced she notices how much happier I am and that I still love her regardless of how I feel about the JWs...so Unstoppable, hang in there and give it time...show her how much you care for her by respecting her opinions if you want her to eventually respect yours...

If we had to avoid eating hotdogs because of the remote possibility they contained blood fractions or byproducts, the WTS should make sure that not one single penny is invested in a portfolio that include companies involved with cigarettes or weaponry...Jehovah sees everything small or big....
