Unlike bible dramas of the past, today's DC dramas are pure fiction. I told my wife that if I wanted to see fiction I would go to the movies where there's real actors and a real screenplay. 2010 is when I saw my last poor fiction drama on how Jews returned to Jerusalem to finally get trapped in 70...I also learned how elders of old kept records of hours spent in the ministry...Bible book, chapter and verse please!

DC "Jehovah's Witnesses have been banned"
by Separation of Powers inseveral weeks ago, i had the opportunity to attend one of the dc.
the final drama was quite interesting as it depicted a "ban" on the jehovah's witness religion without an explanation as to why?
i'm sure many in the audience pondered on what they had learned from their previous studies i.e that babylon the great would fall and then that gog of magog would eventually turn his attention to the organization.

Zealous Witnesses who never had children and regret it now.
by MsGrowingGirl20 ini had two close friends in the org.
one is in her early thirties and got married last year and the other one is single and in her late twenties.
after reading coc, i couldn't help but feel sad at how ray and his wife felt regret at putting the religion first and not having any children.

Everything in life that brings me happiness results from disobeying the WT...while everything causing me grief is a direct consequence from believing their BS. I got married in 1973...some brothers and JW relatives refused to attend our wedding because it was not right to get married so close to the end...40 years later I'm still in love with my wife...we decided to have children against the instructions from the society...today these children and grandchildren are the joy of our lives. I didn't pursue my education because it was discouraged by the WT...I always felt I had to work twice as hard as the others to make it to where I am today.

MW40 has been warned about us...his teacher has said Satan would pressure him and even persecute him to the hinder his progress in the truth. So now that he seen how apostates are evil he will study 3 times a week...pray more...become an unbaptize publisher and will get dunked at the next special assembly day in the fall...

Prayers that God answers. Any examples?
by punkofnice inwhen i believed in god i tried not to pray for anything selfish.. after a while i began to think that a lot of things i was asking my imaginary friend in the sky for were selfish for some reason.. i do not ever remember a single thing i prayed for ever being answered.
if there was the appearance of an answer it was because i did mental gymnastics to make it fit the delusion that god had actually answered me.
there was never an obvious message/answer from god.

The company I worked for 28 years shut down so I prayed and within days I found a job, so I didn't miss a single day of work. An elder told me Jehovah takes care of those who put Kingdom interests first...that job requires that I travel extensively which allowed me to fade...I wonder if this elder still believes that job is a blessing from God or a trap of Satan...

Preaching work
by Kool Jo inhello folks:.
i was just thinking...what do you think the borg would look like if they said it's no longer necessary to do the preaching work...it's voluntary?
1. some would go tru the motions just to appear 'spiritually strong'.

You are no longer a volunteer when you dedicate your whole life to God visible organization...

Mic issues
by msconcerned inso on friday all day, the mic guy did a bang up job.....until david splane got to the podium.
it looked like he discussed how the mic should be set up for him, then finally when the mic guy was walking away david says " well im glad we got that settled".
then today same thing, he got the mic guy to readjust the mic for him again.

I was trained for sound for the circuit and district assemblies by brothers from Bethel and they demonstrated that we could maintain the appropriate volume level even when the mic is held at chest height with a simple adjustment at the mixer...making a precise mic adjustment at the sound console irrelevant. I guess GB members don't know this and mic adjustment is like a rehearsed ritual that needs to be performed perfectly. Who would dare telling a GB he knows shit about how mics work? Some speakers like to move in on the mic to raise the volume to emphasize a point, others just like to speak loud...so I would just adjust the level down and within normal range.

Pronouncing things differently so they don't sound rude. Typical CULT persona. Political correctness?
by punkofnice ini noticed over the years how bros & sis(tm) would pronounce words/names differently or totally substitute them so as not to sound offensive.. egs:.
instead of 'bible aids' a bro(tm) said 'bible helps' thus avoiding aids disease!?!.
instead of sodom the bro(tm) pronounced it 'sow dom'.

About a decade ago there was a revised version of the NWT in French where names of prophets, including the bible book they wrote, and kings were changed to be closer to their original pronunciation. Of course the name of the most known were not changed...still for a while it was very confusing. I just couldn't figure out why the WTS is so concerned about the accuracy of the names of prophets when it accept that Jehovah may not be the accurate rendition of god's name. This led to debates on the meticulously precise pronunciation of names. Some brothers would mispronounce a name and the whole congregation would mimic the same mistake. Today I realize this was a diversion to occupy the brothers mind on meaningless things. BTW should I say DAW RY US or Dari us....
