I also understood she interviewed the 3 women and used a different name to keep their identity secret. I just can't stop thinking about this little girl since I watched and I have to work really to resist showing it to my fully indoctrinated JW family, who I am sure would turn away and block their ears at the first negative comment about the organisation.

Trolley Witnessing Saves Money?
by TTATTelder ini was just wondering, do you think the trolley cart stationary witnessing is to slow down the literature distribution at not-at-homes?.
it basically traps several shifts of pioneers to a cart or table and keeps the placement count way down compared to leaving something at every door in a neighborhood.. is money the main motivation here?
(besides staged facebook pics lol).

Saturday morning I go to a popular farmer's market in my region where there's also a large flee market and factory outlets. This is a very busy place and JWs stand across the street from the main entrance to the main parking lot. But instead of standing by the marked pedestrian crosswalk leading to the shops, they stand on the opposite side where very few people cross. I watch them for about half an hour every time but I have yet to see one single person engage them. Usually after half an hour there is a shift change where JWs sitting in a parked van waiting, come to replace those who were watching the literature cart. Two weeks ago there were 4 in the van plus 2 on the street...then a second car load showed up with 4 more...but still only two on the corner...I thought of the number of hours being reported by 10 publishers watching a cart..I even walked slowly past them twice smiling...they made no attempt to talk to me...how effective can this be except for keeping the troops busy... -

The Watchtower's cash flow problems and financial solvency with lawsuits payouts
by Brokeback Watchtower ini think with all this change we see occurring with the watchtower corporation's to deal with things means they are in financial trouble and are seeking to consolidate their real estate holdings for easy sale if needed to stay financially solvent.. they will stop or slowly decrease the door to door work and focus on the material potential of each member young and old for what ever they can get out of them.
this will lead to more leaving under their tyranny.

They sell off old properties, then have their members contribute money and free labour to build new buildings. How can you ever run out of money that way. -

There is no need for elders to record the meeting since there are 3 of them to corroborate what took place while the accused is always alone...Judicial committees are spiritual executions to silence any dissidence from the organization with no consideration for justice.
These men's first goal is not to answer any questions. All they want to do is establish where Isaac stands in regards to the organization. In fact when Isaac attempts to bring proof to his alegations using WT quotes they tell him they don't have all night. The recording shows that these "qualified" spiritual men cannot and do not want to bring back to reason the accused. They only need an excuse to isolate him from the flock to mitigate the danger of being exposed.

How many here gave up having a family for the sake of the "truth"?
by stuckinarut2 inthis is a sensitive topic for many of us i know, but i am wondering how many here actually gave up the idea of having a family "in this system" for the sake of "kingdom activity or service"??.

Sadly, while some JWs may have regrets being childless and alone in their latter years, others resent having their spiritual career plans interrupted by an unplanned birth. I often heard some say they could have been special pioneers or missionaries if they didn't have a child, making it sound like their life was ruined by the child. Isn't this cult messed up!

Thank you Stumpy for posting the results of your research. I know several sisters who remained single or married very late in life to secure a permanent pioneer partner...some of them died alone leaving nothing behind. I was not very obedient and I got married in 1973. Some family members didn't attend our wedding. Our first child was born early 1976...another cause of concern about our spirituality. Today we have grand children and I could not imagine a life without my family and I am happy that I didn't obey the WT because every other times I did resulted in hardship down the line. -

Being in a cult - what good did it do?
by Garrett inso, here's a bit of a different point of view.
while most of us will agree that our time within the jw cult was rather terrible, however, i'd like to look at another aspect.
did anything good come out of being in a cult and then waking up from it?.

Ucantnome....this is exactly what I am talking about: who's to say your kids wouldn't have been better off not being raised as good Christians? Aren't there any good non believers? All religions and cults want you to believe life without them is worthless. Quoting the bible, isn't it Paul who says that people of the nations do what's good naturally? Today's root of social upheaval is religion, and although it may do good for some individuals it ruins collectivities.
