When we became JW in the late 50's we lost our whole family and friends because they didn't want to join us in the truth...and because we replaced them by our new brothers and sisters. We no longer had time for our relatives and no longer could get together for celebrations like birthdays and other holidays. When you leave the cult, you're reversing this process and I have started reconnecting with relatives I hadn't had contact with for decades. They have received me with open arms and there's a lot of tears of happiness when we meet. They never stopped loving me...it's the cult that got between us. Unlike my JW "friends" who never called or inquired on my sudden disappearing from the Kingdom Hall, my relatives and new friends keep in touch on a regular basis. I have absolutely no regrets leaving the cult and I find it hard to have a conversation with my family that is still in because all they have to talk about is related to the cult. -

If you followed the case, Candace Conti asked for a symbolic sum of $1440.00 for damages. Anything over that amount would be a gain. But mostly she wanted to force the JW to change their policy on child abuse so no other child had to go through the same thing she experienced.

I just spoke to her on the phone today and she told me she is having a wonderful week. She just turned 88 and one of her daughters organized a party for her where a whole bunch of people showed up. She said that the tellers had a cake for her at her last visit at the bank. She is forgetting a lot of things and she didn't know who I was, but after telling her details about the time we met she remembered. She said she can't log in to JWN any more but she still has the internet.

I also understood she interviewed the 3 women and used a different name to keep their identity secret. I just can't stop thinking about this little girl since I watched and I have to work really to resist showing it to my fully indoctrinated JW family, who I am sure would turn away and block their ears at the first negative comment about the organisation.

Trolley Witnessing Saves Money?
by TTATTelder ini was just wondering, do you think the trolley cart stationary witnessing is to slow down the literature distribution at not-at-homes?.
it basically traps several shifts of pioneers to a cart or table and keeps the placement count way down compared to leaving something at every door in a neighborhood.. is money the main motivation here?
(besides staged facebook pics lol).

Saturday morning I go to a popular farmer's market in my region where there's also a large flee market and factory outlets. This is a very busy place and JWs stand across the street from the main entrance to the main parking lot. But instead of standing by the marked pedestrian crosswalk leading to the shops, they stand on the opposite side where very few people cross. I watch them for about half an hour every time but I have yet to see one single person engage them. Usually after half an hour there is a shift change where JWs sitting in a parked van waiting, come to replace those who were watching the literature cart. Two weeks ago there were 4 in the van plus 2 on the street...then a second car load showed up with 4 more...but still only two on the corner...I thought of the number of hours being reported by 10 publishers watching a cart..I even walked slowly past them twice smiling...they made no attempt to talk to me...how effective can this be except for keeping the troops busy... -

The Watchtower's cash flow problems and financial solvency with lawsuits payouts
by Brokeback Watchtower ini think with all this change we see occurring with the watchtower corporation's to deal with things means they are in financial trouble and are seeking to consolidate their real estate holdings for easy sale if needed to stay financially solvent.. they will stop or slowly decrease the door to door work and focus on the material potential of each member young and old for what ever they can get out of them.
this will lead to more leaving under their tyranny.

They sell off old properties, then have their members contribute money and free labour to build new buildings. How can you ever run out of money that way.
