Do you find it hard to be around active JW's now?
by EdenOne ini do - actually, it's become close to unbearable.. and herein lies the paradox: i tried to fade in the illusion that i might keep contact with family and friends still "in".
was it worth it?
because not only most of them shun me anyways, but i find it almost unbearable to be around them, especially when the cult chit chat kicks in: every cute animal video clip triggers endless comments about glimpses of the future paradise and how "god did it"; those greasy praises to the organization and the governing body; the dumb awe about every jw broadcast and those cheesy music videos; the endless drivel against other religions when one knows perfectly well that we're no better than them; the endless flow of "experiences" of field service or spectacular conversions into "the truth"; the relentless congregation gossip; and so on .... i ask myself: is this why i am fading for ...?

Except for one active JW who never talks about the cult in my presence I have no contact with any old "friends" from the congregation. Even family members who rarely visit avoid JW speak in my presence. A while back two of my wife's relatives attempted it and when I started asking questions they couldn't answer, they cowered and shut up. Even praying at mealtimes stopped without me saying anything. My wife will not say anything about her JW life because in fear of some comments I may make that would have her question the cult. Said isn't it, especially from people who claim to own the absolute truth. -

by yalbmert99 inhi, for those who can understand french, on sept.2 in canada(quebec) on channel tva aired a documentary on jws made by an ex-jw, jean-sebastien lozeau.

I watched it and I recognized one of the ex JW at the beginning of the program. I know the JW spokesman as he is a family friend and was instrumental in getting my family in. I hadn't seen Léonce Crépeau for more than a decade and he is just a shadow of the man I knew. He methodically recites the same politically correct JW message of peace and love under the kingdom rule. I was disappointed to hear him say that we don't shun our children when they decide to leave the religion, justifying his comment by saying that it would make no sense to go door to door to make converts and then kick out own kids out. I liked how the director opposed each side of the story, letting the viewer come to their own conclusion. Sadly though the few JWs who may have watched this program will see the ex JWs as bitter mislead people who are out to persecute them...My own JW wife didn't stay to watch. I told her I saw our old friend but she didn't show any interest in knowing more. -

Ray Franz was an Idiot
by vinman inray franz who gave us insight into the gb due to a crisis of conscience was an absolute moron, with absolutely no critical thinking skills whatsoever like all of us have.
i mean, to have a conscience based on some magic man in the sky.. how stupid can you be?
in search of christian freedom?
-

Hey Vinman...would I be right to say the "stupid" "moron" Ray Franz has written at least two more books than you? His books helped thousands to escape a cult. What have you done that's worth of mention? -

Vinmam, give yourself some time to figure out what you want to do. I have been out for 5 years and it took me over 2 years to smooth things out with my wife who is still active. I dedicated that time to work and to making new friends. I play hockey twice a week and ride a motorcycle with a neighbor who introduced me to many of his friends. I also started to reconnect with relatives who I had no time for when I was in the cult. Imagine their shock when I knock on their doors after not seeing them for 40 years. Still they greet me warmly and hold no grudge. I am approaching the retirement age and I plan to stay in touch with fellow workers who I have mentored professionally and they consider me as their father. On a few occasions I supported charity fund drives for cancer research, sick kids hospital and epilepsy where I made new acquaintances. Vinman, try new things and meet new people and you will find good and normal people like you. -

Best day of my life: today because I own it and I am free to make it what I want.
Worst day of my life : yesterday because it didn't last long enough and only remains in my memory.

Why help? The new system is just around the corner...and we have the wonderful hope of resurrection...Jesus didn't spend all of his precious time in charity works...no! his message offered a permanent solution. Even those he cured ended up dying...but if you believe you will live forever. So whatever happens in this life doesn't matter because the real life belong to those who believe in the Watchtower....
How did I do? I still can't be I believed this bull shit.

"And what happened next was simply unbelievable!"
by Terry ini always sit in the same spot, just outside starbucks in a vestibule area with a table in the air-conditioned space.
i say "always," but not today.. somebody with two laptops and a table filled with business ledgers was in "my" favorite spot!.
so, i took a tiny wooden table inside the coffee shop on a long padded bench next to 3 other identical tables.. as the clickbait banner ads like to say: "and what happened next was simply unbelievable!".

Amazing job Terry. Last week 3 of my wife's brothers came for a visit and I was going to bait them when one asked what news item I was reading on my smartphone. I said it was a report on how cultural and religious organizations in Australia deal with child abuse...and how the Catholic Church and Orthodox jews had been blamed...I waited for a smart ass JW comment that didn't come...so I didn't pursue it not to pass as the instigator and upsetting my wife. Sadly JW turn on the messenger instead of checking the validity of the message. I love how Terry threw off the JWs by telling them he is agnostic to avoid being labeled an apostate. -

These are the boxes used at regional conventions. Easy to see and self-supporting. All is left is to assign someone to guard it.
