first and foremost, i would like to clarify that i am in no way making fun of jack barr.
he is dead and deserves respect.. .
that said, the organization he belonged to and led doesn't deserve any respect.
It's amazing that annointed are instantly resurrected when Jesus himself remained dead for 3 days...

Ask Billy the X if he got his glasses at Bethel cause they sure don't look like they're from Lens Crafters...

According to the WT teaching the soul is the person himself: a combination of the fleshly body annimated by a breath of life. When someone dies his life force is extinguished just like the flame on a candle...and the body returns to the ground. In the case of Barr, he died but was resurrected instantly to a life in heaven. He was transformed into a spiritual being.

Ask oompa how he is doing...and if he plans to ride a motorcycle again? You know, once a rider...always a rider!

Being one of the annointed living in the time of the end, he was resurected in the blink of an eye to a heavenly immortal life as soon as his earthly life ended...to occupy a place prepared for him by the reigning king Jesus-Christ.
Three questions come to my mind:
1. What kind of an author is God if he inspired men (whispering His words in their ear) to write a book containing his will for mankind but no one can clearly understand unless it is explained by the WatchTower Society?
2. How did "God's" organization come to an accurate understanding of the Bible if they are not inspired by God's spirit?
3. Is it possible that no one could understand God's will from the time the Bible was compiled until the WatchTower was founded?
an old friend from in the jw's dad (who was a non-jw) committed suicide the other day.
i've been trying to call him for days but he doesn't answer.
probably doesn't want to talk to someone "lawless and demon-infested".
Mr. Freeze,
How noble of you - lawless and demon-infested - to want to show love and compassion for a former friend who lost his father in such a tragic way...How strange on the other hand that "true" Christians would never do the same for you under the same circumstances. This shows the advantage of genuine love for your neighbor versus JW conditional love. Since the father was never a JW, the funeral service won't be at a Kingdom Hall and they may be several "non-witnesses" attending. So follow your heart and you will do what's right.

google_ad_section_start previously wrongly posted under adult members.... a little while back we ordered chinese food and in one of the "fortune cookies" my wife found the message i quoted above.
as jws we view these messages as foolish and i even made up the message from my cookie to say that "i would get lucky that night"... strangely, the next day i found her message posted on our fridge's door with a magnet.
my wife still refuses to discuss any of the reasons behind my decision to stop going to the meetings, so i guess the fortune cookie message is her way of telling me she is not going to join me in leaving the "truth".
Jim_TX,

A little while back we ordered chinese food and in one of the "fortune cookies" my wife found the message I quoted above. As JWs we view these messages as foolish and I even made up the message from my cookie to say that "I would get lucky that night"... Strangely, the next day I found her message posted on our fridge's door with a magnet. My wife still refuses to discuss any of the reasons behind my decision to stop going to the meetings, so I guess the fortune cookie message is her way of telling me she is not going to join me in leaving the "truth". At first I was a bit upset by the way she used to express her stand, but after thinking about it I realized that the message provides me an opportunity to point out that "I can't let others stop ME from doing what I believe is right"...not even peer pressure, threats of loosing my family and friends or even death at the ever so close Armagueddon...JWs are programmed to see only one side of the equation - their side - and they are always right. Since they are not allowed to challenge any teachings and do research outside WTS publications, they are never exposed to evidence that would show them that sometimes others are right too. I was trained to think that very way and when I first saw the message I automatically thought as a JW...for a moment. But now that I am no longer getting my daily dose of "spiritual food" endoctrination I am starting to use my reasoning faculties to see both sides of the equation and come to my own conclusion. I hope that soon I can help my wife and family experience how good it feels to be free to think for yourself.
