JWs truly believe the FDS' is trustworthy and strickly follows God because it says so..and if you adhere to their warning to avoid apostate propagenda, you will never have a reason to doubt them. Try that in real life: I have been telling my wife that I am the most trustworthy and faithful husband and for her own good she should never listen to anyone telling her otherwise - these women are troublemakers, mentally deseased and all they want is to break our marriage...do you think that would pass! Hell no! My belongings would be lined up in the driveway packed in green bags. But in a cult you believe without asking quetions. Even dotrinal changes or failed prophecies are viewed as spiritual enlightment. Two years ago I heard a DC talk about how the FDS was on the watch in 1975 and even if nothing happened then at least they were alert while all other religions were in deep sleep...applauses...How can you blame other religions for being unaware of 1975 when absolutely nothing happened in that year? It like having 2 smoke detectors, one that goes off for no reason while the other stays silent...which one is defective? According to the WT it would be the one who didn't go off for no reason.

Some pretty blatant stuff coming up in bookstudy
by agent zero inso i was reading ahead in the bookstudy book "bearing thorough witness" about god's kingdom, and i came upon some shockingly direct damage control on behalf of the gb in the material for the upcoming weeks.. on page 104: what a privilege it is to be instructed and molded by our patient and kind heavenly father!
the results are always good and always to our advantage.
so let us never proudly push ahead with our own ideas or react negatively to organizational changes or to adjusted explanations of certain scriptures.

WT Flip-Flops on JesusÂ’ InspectionÂ… Was it in 1918 or 1919?... Did the WT PASS or FAIL?
by Alfred inthis is utterly ridiculous.... .
the more i research this particular subject, the more flip-flops i uncover.
it seems the fds cant even make up their minds regarding what happened in 1918 (or should i say 1919?).

I am Canadian so my favorite sport is HOCKEY...I have been playing for over 50 years and it keeps me young and in shape. I play with guys half my age and still can keep up. The Montreal Canadiens is the best sport team ever, winning 24 Stanley Cups. They probably have the most players elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame...

The other day my 3 year old grandson asked me to say a prayer at dinner time...I told him that maybe his daddy (my unbaptized son) could say one...but he insisted for me to say it...My daughter in law realized that I wasn't going to so she said something to distract him...It tug at my heart but I just couldn't go throught the motion. These kids are vulnerable to any influences good or bad.

I took my wife there last year for our wedding aniversary...stayed at the Chancellor Hotel at Union Square. There are plenty of shops in that area. Buy a transit pass and use the cable cars and trolley buses to get around the city. One of the cable car route takes you at the top of Lombard St...the steep street that serpentines down the hill. From that spot you have a great view of Alcatraz...and at the bottom you can go to the italian part of the city at Columbus St. Ghirardelli Chocolat factory and the Fisherman's wharf are also places you can access by trolley bus. If you take a bus ride to the Golden Gate you can cross to Sausalito and this is also a very nice place. I am from Canada and have been to San Diego and Los Angeles, but my favorite city in California is San Franciso...

No More Missionaries
by Lunatic Faith inhas anyone heard about this?
we received an email from an old friend who is still an elder and doesn't know what we are up to.
"a change, they are no longer training missionaries and sending them into foreign fields.

I always thought there were sponsored missionary homes in foreign lands...I know missionaries in Burkina Faso and in Benin...they live in these homes or at the branch...I also know that some of the missionaries share some of their allowance with the poorest members of their congregation and they also ask friends and relatives to ship some over the counter drugs and school supplies to them so they can help the sick and the poor BECAUSE THE WATCH TOWER SOCIETY DOES NOT GIVE CHARITY TO THOSE IN NEED...INSTEAD THEY USE THE DONATIONS TO FINANCE REAL ESTATE DEALS AND ACQUIRE MORE WEALTH...THEY MAINTAIN EMPTY BUILDINGS WHILE SOME OF THE BROTHERS ARE STARVING...

What exactly are men at the back of the hall taking care of?
by howdidtihappen inonce people have come in, and the doorman and the mic men are in place, why are there a few other suits scattered about at the back?
i saw a guy get up, sit down, get up, sit down, get up and when i looked what he was up to he was reading the noticeboard and looking around, waiting for a bus.
i figured he wasn't doing much at that point, but anything to not stay seated.

Attendants usually help people who are late to find their seat in the least disruptive way...but since all the back rows fill up first, the late comers usually end up going to the front row or chairs are added to the back...A long time ago I had to intervene when a man irrupted in the hall to force his wife to leave the meeting. I kept him at the entrance while the other attendant told the sister her opposed husband wanted her to come home right away. The sister decided to stay...so I told the husband that his wife would be out at the end of the meeting. He was very insistant so I escorted him to the sidewalk and told him that we would call the police if he attempted to come back inside the hall. The poor sister had to go back home to a very upset husband and we all knew what happened to her...the next meeting she showed up with a black eye...

Nugget,
You are right when you say the WT still makes a huge profit regardless of the price they get for their properties...it's all about the money. The best example are the assembly halls. Local brothers built it for free, pay for the land and materials, the deed of the property belongs to the WT society who in return charges a high rental fee every time the brothers (who built it and paid for it) use it! These brothers don't even realize the $20,000 cost for a week end is way more then what maintaining the hall costs...This is a 180 degree turn from the original plan of having our own assembly hall to save on rental, moving of equipment and cleaning dirty old halls we used to rent for CAs. I remember having to clean up the Canadian Slovak hall in Montreal...until we started using the auditorium in my High Scool...
