what saying made it all around the country?.
the ones that were passed around, word of mouth.. for example.
"donations basis proves jehovah is behind the work!".

regarding what some have said here about the wt being a false prophet.. i would like to make my point regarding the wt not being a false prophet... so please, if you can be patient enough to read this, at least try to understand what i am getting at.. a false prophet is one who, according to deuteronomy, makes a false prediction of the future and claims that the prediction came from god, or in other words claiming that 'god has said he will do a certain thing at a certain time' etc.. for example, hypothetically speaking, if someone had claimed: "god will bring about the end of the world in 2010", they would have been proven to be a false prophet, obviously.
but, as an example, imagine a man who claimed the position of a prophet of god, (as moses did, because although he was not the type of prophet that predicted the future.. he was still a prophet or spokesman for god) and that he had publicised worldwide, according to his interpretation of a (for example) prophecy found in the book of isaiah, that the world would end in 2010.. and he had also stated that he was not saying that god will end the world in that year.. but only that there was biblical evidence that god might do so.
that would clearly have been a mistake.

we miss you, hope to see you soon.
your dad will be wondering where you are at the resurrection.
love, bro.
I chose not to reply in writing to any message from JWs. If they care so much about me the least they can do is call me or come and knock on my door...but that doesn't happen because most of them wouldn't dare say my face what they can cowardly write in a text message or e-mail. Letely I received a request to connect with a "friend" on LinkedIn...and I viewed this as an attempted for him to test the waters to determine if I am still friends with him. If he wants to know, he can walk around the block and ring my door bell.
i keep coming upon references dealing with a phone hookup if you must miss a kh meeting.
in my day, if you missed, you missed and celebrated the fact.
what is the procedure for the hookup?
Punkofnice, in my hall the congregation paid the monthly cost of the additional phone line ($120 per month if I remember well). So at first the elders hesitated to have the system installed...they were considering leaving the old system that would allow only 2 homes to be connected at once. As far as beaming the audio to another location, that's a no-no because it would give these old folks an excuse not to come to the KHall...if they have an ounce of life left, they should spend it coming to the meetings. In our area there is a camp site where the vast majority of campers are JWs and every Sunday a WT study was organized...that was cancelled because the society wanted the campers and vacationers to drive one hour each way to attend the study at a KHall...I guess this camp ground must be quite empty on Sunday...NOT!

In our congregation you had to call in and a brother would answer and ask who is calling - then he would transfer your call to another line where you are on put HOLD and instead of hearing the usual silly music you can hear the silly meeting...! This system could accomodate an unlimited amount of calls, but when I was asked to explain how the system works during the announcements, I was instructed to say that number of callers was limited...they feared too many would stay home to take advantage of this arrangement.
...and a big smile on his face... as if to say "i can finally shut you up".... rewinding a bit.... about 18 months ago, i read "gentile times reconsidered" and discovered this doctrine had more holes than swiss cheese.
but it didn't end there, i read several studies in the scriptures, the even tide by john aquila brown (not all of it) and then proceeded to write multiple letters to brooklyn, all of which were responded to by dodging simple questions such as: "if the 70 years ended in 537 and jeremiah says there would be 70 years of servitude, which babyonian king were the jews serving between 539 and 537?".
i showed all three of the society's responses to an elder in my congo (even though he received copies of these himself) and he could see that they were "canned" responses that in no way anwered my queries.

i'm an atheist but i've recently been curious enough to sit quietly on the hard wooden pews of a local and very simple english village church - it was sweet, humble and surprisingly calming.. now, how exactly is this monstrosity supposed to motivate anyone?!.
what does it tell us about the mentality of the religions leaders?
does this look like a place of worship?
In one of the halls I attended there was a mural of a paradise scene on the wall behind the speaker, with curtains bordering each side and a white picket fence applied to the wall...often the speakers would point at that fence to illustrate how close we were to entering into paradise....that was 30 years ago....
i see a few want to believe in the watchtower's view of bible prophecy, scriptural understandings and the view that the "anointed remnant" dispense the "spiritual food at the proper time".. how would you refute those views?.
I was book study conductor when the Revelation book was last studied...during my preparation I sometimes couldn't figure out how the cited scriptures supported the WT's reasoning...so during the study I would put it out to the audience to apply the scriptures...some were quite creative in their explanations...In the end it really didn't matter if it made sense or not since everyone was ready to believe anything the book said regardless of the lack of scriptural support. It goes to prove that bull$hit baffles the mind.

Looks like a rental hall in a cheap Hotel where Multi-Level-Marketers meet to recruit suckers! This KHall brings me back 30 years ago before we renovated our KHall, only to sell it months later to another "cult" and then we built a brand new one...That kept us busy for a while and started the money flowing into the coffre of the WT. The KHall was paid off in 10 years and it has much more value then the old one we sold off.

crisis of conscience within the traralgon congregation of jehovahs witnesses?
part 2december 18, 2011 by sitepost .
The sad thing is that if the victims and their parents take action against the WT they will be vilified and slandered within their brotherhood for not dealing with these issues "Jehovah's way". Even if this attracts huge media attention, the eyes of very few JWs will be opened...the vast majority will see it as persecution from Satan's world. I wish I could share this information with my wife to help her understand why I want to have nothing to do with the WT, but she will say that this situation is an isolated case. I hope this case blows wide open all the way to the US...to make the WT leadership accountable for turning a blind eye to the suffering of innocent children.
