  SAD news about OOMPA......

  our friend, oompa, has passed away.

  just recieved the news a couple of hours ago, and have almost no details.

  it happened today or yesterday, he took his own life.

  This morning I am riding my motorcycle in remembrance of Oompa...I know he shared my passion for bikes for a while. Having survived a nasty crash he fough hard and recovered...but he couldn't recover from the harm and hardship caused by the WTS...how does one live on when the ones you love abandon you because their love for the cult is more powerful than the love they should naturally have for you...if one day my family was to chose the cult over me I don't know if I could live on. Farewell Oompa.

  i just wanted to know why you chose your particular screen name and/or avatar.

  my name speaks for itself...never too late to break free from the "truth" and my avatar means that I can't change it for the life of me, despite numerous attempts...it seems like the e-mail address is no longer accessible or is locked up by this site when it attempt to log in on gravatar.

  I know of at least 5. Two were in their twenties, including a pioneer, from a neighbouring congregation and one was a close friend and MS in his early fifties...

  A lunchtime spotting of JWs on their break from door-knocking...

  not that big of a deal, but it is kind of humorous.... my wife and i went to a local mcdonald's for lunch.

  yes, i know all the bad things that are in their foods... but it's difficult to find lunch places that are 'healthy' and low-cost.. anyway, she went and sat down, and i ordered the food.

  as i came round the corner with the tray filled with burger, fries and the cups for our sodas, i spotted a group of four women sitting at one of the tables.. folks... i just want to make one thing very clear.

  I try to avoid Tim Horton's doughnut shops on Saturday morning because I don't want to run into my former JW "friends". Even funnier, a few months ago I was calling on some customers around my house and I wanted to go to McDonald for a quick lunch...as I approached the door I saw my wife and her car group waiting in line...I made sure they didn't see me and turned back to have lunch elsewhere! I would have loved to have lunch with my wife but I don't want to have anything to do with JWs and their fake demonstration of love in hope to have return into their cult...

  Well done Ray. The elders acted like all typical JWs when you presented facts contradicting WT teachings or exposing their flaws...they avoided answering questions and wanted no part in a debate. When the elders asked questions they demanded an answer but when you asked embarassing questions they ran their mouth in an attempt to change the subject. They do not care if you are right or wrong, they do not care if the WTS mislead them, they do not care about your suffering and they cannot see past the sole reason why they called you in: to confirm you are an apostate and to get rid of you.

  Brothers playing sports are so aggressive.

  this summer i started to play football(soccer) with "wordly" people.

  it s been so nice and relaxing without flashovers.. contrast for playing with witnesses is huge!

  I use to play hockey 3 times a week with the brothers and the games were rough and very aggressive. Some were getting seriously injured resulting from cheap shots. Now I play on local teams and I enjoy the games as never before. I am glad JWs kicked me out of their team for not attending the meetings. One team I play for is made up of professionals and we hang around after the games. Some have become good friends in a very short time. They even enquire when I miss a game...unlike my JW friends who haven't called in over 2 years since I stopped going to the meetings.

  i'm wondering how they feel about their likeness being spammed all over the internet right now?

  i'll bet they didn't sign up for this kind of attention.. it reminds me of an article wired magazine did on youtube a couple years ago about people that had their careers or social life ruined by a viral youtube video.. anyway, it would be interesting to find out who these guys are and what may or may not end up happening with them over this..

  In my late teens until my mid twenties I did sign language in my congregation and I clearly recall how embarrassing it was to translate talks on sexual matters like masturbation, menstrual cycle, fornication...still I just didn't think about it when it was over. Fortunately I was never recorded or videotaped and I can't imagine how silly I must have looked standing out there in front of the group.
