Yeah, I have the 2 books about Isaiah that came out this year and last at the conventions. I read the part about the lame leaping up like a deer, etc. in chapter 35:5,6, and they now are teaching that it is figurative about the condition of the Israelites. Remember all of those inspirational articles about sick and disabled people where they would quote that scripture? They used to teach it as a literal occurence, not it is figurative? Go figure!!!

Kent's Tabloid Journalism = lies??

such headlines skirt the issue but rarely are an accurate representation of the real story.. case in point a headlines such as:.

I have read every one of these posts. Kent must be very close to the truth for everyone to be attacking him like they are. I have found that the more voices downgrading someone, the closer to the real truth that someone is. Kent has a very good website and tells the real truth, not some watered down truth or outright lies that some people tell because they are afraid of the Watchtower or some other authority figure.

Women have it bad in the JWs. The elders do try to tell us what to do, how to act and dress, etc. They have tried it with me in the past, but I let them know right quick that they should not pull that with me. I am not going to be submissive to some man that does not own me!!! There were plenty of women in prominent positions in the Bible, just they do not want you to realize that!!! The last time I went to a meeting, I wore nice pants and a nice shirt. This elder's wife came over and told me that she could find me some nice dresses to wear to the meetings. Get real!!! I wear what I have and it is nice. This other sister brought over some incredibly hideously ugly dresses for my mother to wear to meetings, we took them to the local share agency.

How Not To Be DA'd
by Defender inmany of us, who have found the real truth about the truth and have stopped attending meetings and have made known some of our views to close jw friends and family, are trying to live discreet lives hoping that we never encounter that dreadful moment when the mobile spanish inquisition suddenly knocks on our door.. it is an extremely emotional and heart wrenching situation and many would find it hard to deal with, myself included.
being prepared would certainly help.
being resolved to uphold our consciences is admirable.

I loved the part about when the mobile "Spanish Inquisition comes rolling up to one's door. That has not happened at my house yet, even though my mother has not been to a meeting in about 10 years. I sort of expect it any day though, although it may never happen as I usually open the door and I think they are a little afraid of me. I will keep you posted.

Also, in a talk once, they said something like if a depressed person wants to talk to you, just tell them you are busy and will talk later. Also, they said something like, "They will snap out of it, so just ignore them if they are talking crazy". Any thoughts about this?

Gee, I wrote a lot of letters to every elder in the congregations I used to attend and sent copies of everything to the Society. I also sent copies of every elder's letters to every other elder. I also never got response from anyone!!!! Not to sound arrogant, but are they referring to my complaints also??? I shut up for NO ONE!!! If I was easily shut up by someone, then my website would not exist!!! The Society just does not want the real truth to get out about how they are treating their members!!!

This is not about seat saving, but it is about how I was treated the last time I went to a DC. In the congregation that I attended before I moved to another town, there was this woman who professed to be of the annointed. This woman definitely has a huge problem as she almost ruined my life by her giving my mother child rearing advice. Anyway, I saw this woman sitting by another sister from her congregation and some other people who just came because they were possible converts. I speak nicely to her and she acted out in front of them and some elders and a GB member. I do have something good to say about the elders and the GB member. They took her name and congregation and also dressed her down. The GB member told her that she was not acting with love like a true Christian and he commended me on my behavior during the incident -- I acted in a loving Christian manner. I doubt very seriously the elders in her congregation did anything about it thoug as they are terrified of this woman. She tried to lure my mother into one of their star-chamber judicial hearings but my mom couldn't go as the car broke down for some reason. I just thought you would want to hear my story.
