For my son, no. But my daughter, yes. In honor of my mother that was childless do to having a hysterictomy (sp?) as a result of Rhuematic Fever in her mid 20's. She prayed to Jehovah, her words not mine, that they would be able to adopt a boy. Then I came along, and they were able to adopt me. Thus my ex and I named our daughter Hannah (Heb. Grace) to honor my mother and her grandmother (my daughter never knew my mother as she died the weekend before the L.A. riots).

Did you give your children 'Bible names'?
by nicolaou ini have to admit that we gave our first two kids 'hebrew' names.
i don't want to identify my children online but suffice to say that we had at least some sense in that we opted for safe names of the samuel and daniel type - no melchizedeks!.
however, in our city we had a javan a samson [gen 10:2] and even a zechariah!

I have a serious question about the film. When Jesus was badly beaten, he sees "the devil" or whoever its supposed to be walking in the crowd. (fine.) then the devil is carrying some sort of devilish baby! Where the HECK did that come from?
According to a noted Pastor from Southern California (he was being interviewed on the radio) that was at a screening with Mel Gibson, andMr. Gibson fielded questions from the audience this same question was asked. Mr. Gibson stated that he wanted to show how in this time of need Satan would be comforted with his "family" wheras Jesus could not.

Seriously,
After reading the posts of Realist, and to a certain extent, SImon's, I feel I have a real working knowledge of what was written in Mein Kampf. Might as well scratch that off my to do list.

Do Jehovah's Witnesses Have the Only True Religion
by Theocrat inwhether you're a doubter or another agitator, just look at what the bible says: .
1- jesus started one true christian religion.
after the christian arrangement had been established for some time, the apostle paul under inspiration further showed at ephesians 4:4, 5 that there must be just one body, or group, of true worshipers of god.

I did not say that I had facts but I do remember a poster about 6 months ago presenting facts that it was tampered with or added in . It just defies logic to state that the romans only used the sword against the bad deed when we do know for a fact that they used christians as entertainment in the colloseum and inflicted cruel punnishment to end the christian movement in rome.
All I can say is that if that is what you base your sweeping damnation of Rmans 13 on, then there is no need for a continuation of this.

I know that this is going to raise some hackles, but I think it must be said.
Isn't it interesting that Realist is an Anti-Semite from Austria? Didn't this whole Israel issue see it's genesis from those survivors attempting to make sure that what happened to them from a previous Anti-Semitic Austrian wouldn't happen again?

I just watched Antwone Fischer on Sunday. The poem that Antwone (Derek Luke) wrote to his pyschiatrist (Denzel Washington) just made me weep.
Who will cry for the little boy, lost and all alone? Who will cry for the little boy, abandoned without his own?
Who will cry for the little boy? He cried himself to sleep.
Who will cry for the little boy? He never had for keeps.Who will cry for the little boy? He walked the burning sand.
Who will cry for the little boy? The boy inside the man.Who will cry for the little boy? Who knows well hurt and pain.
Who will cry for the little boy? He died and died again.Who will cry for the little boy? A good boy he tried to be.
Who will cry for the little boy, who cries inside of me? -

Crinklestein,
That is Col. Nathan Jessup played by Jack Nicholson in A Few Good Men.
My first quote was from Field of Dreams, and I still bawl everytime I get to that scene. It is my most treasured memory of time spent with my dad.
My next attempt...have fun
There was this kid I grew up with -- he was younger than me. Sorta looked up to me -- you know. We did our first work together -- worked our way out of the street. Things were good, we made the most of it. During Prohibition -- we ran molasses into Canada -- made a fortune -- you father, too. As much as anyone, I loved him -- and trusted him. Later on he had an idea -- to build a city out of a desert stop-over for GI's on the way to the West Coast. That kid's name was Moe Green -- and the city he invented was Las Vegas. This was a great man -- a man of vision and guts. And there isn't even a plaque -- or a signpost -- or a statue of him in that town! Someone put a bullet through his eye. No one knows who gave the order -- when I heard it, I wasn't angry; I knew Moe -- I knew he was head-strong, talking loud, saying stupid things. So when he turned up dead -- I let it go. And I said to myself, this is the business we've chosen -- I didn't ask who gave the order -- because it had nothing to do with business!
