I have never, ever seen a "minority" in a position higher than an elder in the U.S. English speaking halls.
But I have seen some ""dopey white folks" as COs.

who would you say would be the "easier targets", when jw's knock at their door?
do you think that there are any particular people who would be more vulnerable to fall into the jw trap?

Thank you six, for your typically condescending lack of response.
But for the record I do not think I have mastered anything, most of the time I'm learning.
What I do know is that it worked. Whether or not you believe it, well that is up to you.

"Trickle-down" or Reagan-omics - by whatever name, ONLY WORKS FOR THOSE NEAR THE TOP OF THE TRICKLE.
Michael, obviously you have never run a business, or have been totally brainwashed by liberal economics professors.
As a son of an entrepenuer in the 80s, I personally saw how trickle down works.
Our restaurant was in a town with a tourist based economy. Prior to Reaganomics, our business was bad. People having to pay higher taxes had less disposbale income. They did not travel as far away from home. Our business income was hurt, and we had to cut hours, and even let people go.
During the height of Reaganomics, less taxes. The people that had more money to spend because of their newly lowered tax rate decided to travel more. Or perhaps go into business, and make more money. These people went on vacations to my old home town and spent money. They needed to eat while there, and so we had more demand, so we were able to rehire the people we were forced to let go, and also increase the hours of those that hed their hours cut back.
We were also able to offer more benefits to our employees, ie. healthcare, dental, vision. We had a very progressive company. Now since our employees had more money, because our business was making more money and because our patrons were making more money, our employees could do things that they couldn't do prior to Reagan-omics. They bought cars, houses, things like that.
So you see Michael, one dinky little restaurant in a two-horse tourist town was a prime benefactor of trickle-down economics. Which works, and why the USSR and Economic Socialism in general, is now relegated to the trash dump.
THANK YOU, COME AGAIN!

there are a ton of songs i hear that take me back to certain times of my life or one event in particular: .
pour some sugar on me- def leppard-- my sixth grade last day of school party .
parents just dont understand-dj jazzy jeff and the fresh prince--the summer going into six grade, i remember recording the song and trying to memorize all the words .
HMMMMM.....
Van Halen's Ice Cream Man reminds me of mowing lawns for a neighbor with a hot 20-ish daughter that loved to sunbathe (i was 15 at the time and full of raging hormones).
Boston's Smokin' of driving to Santa Fe, NM to visit my g/f.
Led Zepplin's Stairway to Heaven of when a group of JW teens got loaded while ditching school.
Glenn Frey's You Belong to the City...the first night I drove in Los Angeles.

this year at the dc, we were expressly told to wear our badges at all times, even when going to a restaurant or some place else, so we could "give a witness.".
did any of you hear follow through with this arrangement?
did you have one of those "fantastic" experiences, when someone commented on your badge?.
I wore a badge when I was little. I stopped around 18 when I began buying wool suits. I never wore them again. Nor will I ever.

i have visited several churches with family and friends and this is something that i cannot get used to.
i do not know if this is basically done in black churches or not ( i am aa) but it makes me a little uncomfortable.
i will say that i have had feelings in these churches that i have never felt in the kh.
I don't hold to the ecstatic babble that is done in modern "Spirit-filled" churches. I do attend a Pentecostal church, but I have always been uncomfortable with the Biblical support that many in this group give me. Much of it seems to be pulled out of context.
I also do not agree that "the baptism of the Holy Spirit" is evidenced by speaking in tongues.
If a church does this I don't have a problem, unless they are teaching that you must have this experience to attain a "higher relationship" with God.
Personally, some of the most insensitive and cruel Christians were Pentecostals. Especially if you disagree with this doctrine.

i do believe they will, as time goes on, lose many or most of their members.
but i do think that there will always be some around to continue the religion....maybe years from now they'll become more mainstream, i don't know.
The only way for the Borg to survive is for it to become more like the Mormon Church.
Like the Mormon church the WTS must shed the odd-ball doctrines, and fanatical control of the R&F. Unless that happens the WTS will fall on its face, and be religated to a third-world cult.
