I always tried to get on car park duty. The conversations about music, sport and 'worldly' things were far more happifying than the droll adverts for door knocking.

back in the early 90's we went to the sunday talk and wt study.. lo and behold, a friend from the 70's who was df'ed ( he had just been reinstated) was there along with his parents.
i had no idea that they would have been there.. one of my kids was getting sick, so my wife and i were up-down the entire meeting walking him around.

I don't know if a god exists but what I do know is the god of the watchtower definitely doesn't exist. So who's behind it? Oh, the GB! Fancy that!!

yet it somehow bothers many of you that he will shortly execute his judgment on mankind and wipe out 99.9% of the world's population, as if that somehow is supposed to conflict with his loving qualities.

The evolution (pardon the pun), of this conversation is interesting. Not from the angle that there is no scriptural precedent for accepting blood fractions but the way the responses to honest questions were returned.
I noticed that once challenged JWTruth responded not with honest answers but an 'ad hominem' attack on the 'person' for challenging - eg this one paragraph alone where I have hi-lited direct insults rather than logical developments:
''Once again you are wrong and do not know what you are talking about. It these uneducated questions that show ignorancefrom the person asking, who tries to sound like some sort of an expert, but in factdo not know anything about the subject.''
If I'm honest this is very 'watchtower' in it's delivery. When unable to defend a silly doctrine they 'attack the person' with rude comments. I can see JWTruth is getting very angry.............all that repressed aggression the watchtower puts in it's victims.
Logical fallacies indeed JWFacts.
1000 didn't die by being hit on the head by a flying anvil. This doesn't mean anyone ever will or that there is even such a thing as a flying anvil.
To be honest JWTruth seems to be spinning around furious but unable to get out of the circular reasoning spin cycle.

@Lifeisgood - I have read this with interest and will return to it and re-read.
I totally agree that when you read the dublications there is a weird tone in them. Often after reading them I felt hollow, empty almost without hope! What I thought would be a good boost to 'spirituality' was in fact a real let down.
I think most of us concur it's all about money!!

Going off topic I remember a black sister who had a glass fish ornament which stood on it's tail mouth in the air. An elder seriously made the comment after seeing her: 'Do you think she worships Dagon?' I kid you not. But then this is on topic as ......there are NO advantages in living in such a misguided mentality

There is so much pent up frustration in the JW's. This is why you'll see insulting and rude comments from them on youtube beneath the vid.
Encourage = Thou shall not!
A JW wastes their lives pounding the streets 'placing' dublications, trying to start 'Bible' studies, attending meetings that are not worship based but sales orientated.
It's a very hollow life of delusion and disappointment.
I've seen this in my own family and thru' all the disappointment there is this illusion that god will make it all right in the end so let's keep pretending, holding on...the big 'A' is VERY close....please, let it be very close........
Many 'worldly' people live more moral lives and do not tell lies to entrap people into their cult.
As for having a good 'social network'..........nah! Smoke 1 cigarette and you'll see them turn on you like wolves!

There certainly seems to be lot of 'greedy commerce' involved in the WTB$.
When I was an elder I was apalled at how much it was run like a business often to the detriment of the flock.
Letters from HQ would come in telling us what to do on virtually everything. It was so annoying to be treat like a child and not be allowed to let the Bible speak for itself.
JC's reminds me of 'disciplinary Hearings' you may have at work for poor attendance or poor work etc.
Greedy commerce is something the WTB$ condemn but actually ARE!!
