i'd imagine playing rock'n'roll on the congregation's piano.. how did you get through the meetings when you were bored?.

@finallysomepride - Yup. Deffo had 'masturbatory' thoughts abot the sisters when I was a teen!

Trouble with gum was that once the flavour was gone.....................yuk!

@talesin. I developed the 'nap' stance too. Until one assembly, in the middle row, I fell into a sleep and jumped and woke myself up.

Those around me laughed. I decided it was wiser to sit nearer the back for napping.

when i was a kid i got through a number of the old green bibles!!.

do you remember this bible?.

I used to draw other dinosaurs to keep it company.

In my 1958 'Paradised Regained' book I used to draw intestines on Adam for some reason I can't recall.

I was bleedin' annoyed god was killing a poor cat in the armageddon picture though.....or was it a dog?

I was an elder and so was my Dad before me. I was raised in the cancerous cult of WTB$ and deeply regret wasting most of my life in it. DEEPLY REGRET IT!!

I was convinced it was actually the real 'TROOOOOOOOOooooOOOOOooOOTH' and not just a corporatation with a brand name god with 'brand loyalty'.

I woke up when I was an elder because I saw the gross inhumanity in the organization that I thought was from god. I saw how the needs of the 'flock' was just something the CoBE and his suck ups tolerated as they powertripped. How the power tripping elders would only shepherd individuals if they gained some personal prestige or pat on the back from the circus over-sneer.

I saw how letters of Pharisee proportions would come from HQ stating what policy/law was to be implemented no matter the cost to the flock.

I saw how Jar-Hoover's oily spirit' DIDN'T work in desicions but how it was just the power trippers who made such desicions.

As for TWO reasons some remain, there might be more....

Looks like ''the Boss'' encapsulates the polictical and self serving nature of the organization as a whole. He's dead (not in heaven), but that kind of legacy lives on. what must the other delusional GB members be like? Just as power tripping? Probably.

I always think that the leaders attutude is cascaded down the ranks and that's why 99% of all CO's I've known have been vicious, power tripping, self serving bullies.

The CoBE on the BOE I was on was just the same.

The fact it has been documented in the dublications that they call the average JW ''Rank & File'' illustrates the caste system they have, despite their lie that JWs are all equal. What cobblers!

" at the bottom of the image on the back of the invitation raises some eyebrows, but last night in the routine district convention article during the service meeting, i caught that one of the paragraphs mentioned that we would be encouraged to keep a copy of the tract in hand for a discussion during sunday's last talk.

my guess is, there is going to be some new revelation about what the "?

" represents, or some other fangled idea.

One does one's best. If I use the PC at work it only has 'Pain' on it, if I use my home PC I use 'Adobe Fireworks'.

Back to the thread, I can't wait to see what the toes are now. I wonder if it'll be something crafty like the 'overlapping' that means they can make a doctrine that can last hundreds of years and laugh as the R&F eat it up!

Perhaps the 'symbolic' toe nails will grow in tandem with the overlapping until Jehovah, the greater chiropodist clips them!

True Christian thiefs?

we all know how the jw's bang on about : 'we're true christians!'.

on 2 of the occasions we invited jw's to stay at our home overnight and enjoy hospitality i had items stolen!.

the first was a music collection album that my zealous sil took home with her.. .

i've known about this group since 1949, things were much different back in those days, yes they were exciting times.

why did i eventually leave this group?

Many little things were the straws that broke the camel's back but I was struck by how much the GB are like the Pharisees of Jesus day.

Luke 16:10-15 = (NWT) 10 The person faithful in what is least is faithful also in much, and the person unrighteous in what is least is unrighteous also in much. 11 Therefore, if YOU have not proved yourselves faithful in connection with the unrighteous riches, who will entrust YOU with what is true? 12 And if YOU have not proved yourselves faithful in connection with what is another’s, who will give YOU what is for yourselves? 13 No house servant can be a slave to two masters; for, either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will stick to the one and despise the other. It just became evident that the FD$ are modern day Pharisees and everything from them evidently (watchtower word), revolves around them getting power and money!

If they can be lacking in the 'least' thing eg: Flip flops like the men of sodom, (which may not seem a big deal), then they can not be trusted with bigger things like doctrine.
