  Beards- just told by an elder

  i know this subject has been talked about lots over the years, just thought i would share a recent finding from canada.. while visiting with a group of friends, an elder (don’t recall how the subject came up) mentioned the local body had voted to allow brothers with beards be allowed to give talks from the platform.

  (it was a very close vote).

  the direction given was for each congregation to decide for themselves if that is now acceptable.. so some congregations will be for, and for many it will not.. it’ll probably be a long time before we see any pictures on the watchtower where they’re allowing this though..

  I would imagine the WTBT$ relish their control. However, if by allowing beards, they get more money to get sozzled on fine whiskey whilst protecting their like minded child abusers, they'll allow it.

  Otherwise, their favourite word is NO.

  the last 2 1/2 years have been extremely stressful.

  while the rest of the world was dealing with covid, i was also dealing with cancer.

  in fact it seems none of my doctors knew about it.

  Whatever my views, I don't think they 'overlap(tm)'.

  As for 1914, I see no significance there. When I left the Jobots and became a mainstream Christian, I got the impression from this text as being more about the generation alive up to the Romans and Masada and all that stuff because they saw it.

  Now, it's pretty meaningless to me. I'm more inclined to a Buddhist-lite version of life.

  i would like to collect as many instances of watchtower dishonesty and pretense as possible.

  here is one from a bulgarian as an example of what i'm looking for.. are jehovah's witnesses disfellowshipped for receiving blood in a hospital?.

  going on 2+ years of no public ministry.

  can't imagine anyone is really enjoying letter writing still or that it's remotely effective.

  i'm a little shocked that we haven't resumed yet but i guess that's what happens when the org is run by a bunch of old people (ie high risk for covid) and a bunch of other sheltered germaphobes.

  Worship study this week

  since i need to keep up for family's sake i "study"(skim, its not deep).

  worship: pray, study ( wt), go to meetings ( formal, not gathering 2 or 3), preach.

  thrn add helping build halls, donating, and since donations go one way only, give material aid to others.. note construction time isn't for service,( but i may have turned in time for it).
