A Little About Me & What Is a Resurrection?

a little about me first: i was a 4th generation jw who had major reservations about the wt growing up, but finally got on board at age 23 when i got baptized.

spent 8 very active years in, then 8 years out as an agnostic.

got saved in 2004 and been living the born-again christian bible-believing life ever since.

What do you think a resurrection is?
Do you think there is more than one kind ?

I imagine from a Religious standpoint it is a miraculous way of being brought back from the dead but remaining the authentic person.

From a more secular perspective, were it possible, it would likely be more of a cloning process.

Is it spiritual? Is it bodily.
Is it something else?

Again, I'd say a religious person would think you probably mean being raised to life in Heaven?

I don't have any opinions, really. We'll either know or not in the end.

there were several times when i was inside the congregation that i met up with a problem in my life and on mentioning it at a group i would be told to do my own research about it.. of course, they didn't mean for me to research worldly material for the answer but to use the wt indexes and look into the wt society magazines.. it was only when i started to do my own research outside of the wt that i began to see the limited scope of the society's magazines as all problems usually fell into the category of 1. read the bible, attend meetings, go out on the work, and pray; or 2. this isn't going to be fixed now but in the new world god will sort it out and the former things (what you are suffering from now) will not be called to mind.. i wonder how many people still in are struggling and are not being encouraged to research away from the organisation where they would receive practical and valuable advice?.

Yes. It is very circular with the Jobots.

They are only allowed to research using JW dot org propaganda.

The internet really has killed off a lot of their bums on seats though. Long may they fall.

i've filed this under news and world events, although i could've posted it under entertainment, lol.

apparently, joe biden will be seeking re-election for another term in the white house.. this, despite a recent poll showing that 70% of people don't want him to run again.. biden just has to be the worst president i've seen.

his gaffes, over-relience on a prompter, and, more than any other president, his refusal to answer journalists' questions, all go to make him top of the list in terms of bad presidents.. it will certainly provide entertainment, if nothing else..

Opening doors, putting your foot in the door and other dangerous activities

i was listening to the news and there is this big brouhaha about someone shooting someone through their front door.

apparently the person tried to open the door of an elderly person, scaring the homeowner and they shot a gun injuring the person.

obvious castle doctrine case.. which made me remember a rather overzealous old pioneer that used the same tactics when he knew the homeowners were home but didn’t want to come to the door, he would start opening the storm doors and try to see if the door was unlocked so he could yell inside.

Here, it would be someone stabbing someone, especially in Sadiq Khan's London.
