Mrs Punk and Daughter Punk were saying last night out loud and in front of me when I was trying to watch the Simpsons: 'OooOOooOOooH, wasn't the Watchtower about singing GOOD this week!'

I think they think they can drop these little hints to draw me back to the meetings.

It just pushes me further from the mind control seeing how petty it all is that adults have to stoop to dropping verbal hints. Typical JW nonsense!

A good watchtower..........hah! whatever next? Armageddon is close?

here i am - born in truth, hard-core spiritual everything all my life, early reg.pioneer, ms, elder, assembly parts, tour at bethel, etc, married now...... i'm trying to examine jw teachings a little closer...... i've spent the last two weeks reading many many posts, info , references on where ex-jw's are coming from.

i'm kind of concerned about a few things lately..... honestly - some points make sense to me - some don't - here are my general thoughts:.

-wt getting un membership for access to library - doesnt bother me - some passports and other governement documents have similar forms and requirements..... -blood issue - some counterpoints to the jw 'rules' makes sense (original intent of scripture is unbled animals, white blood cells similar in mothers milk) etc -however a lot of 'apostate' reasonings and proof are inaccurate.

I was born and raised in the JW's. Family 'in', pioneered, ms, elder and all the trimmings.........

It was the 'overlapping' thing that finally finally got me. Don't get me wrong, I had doubts over the years and saw some very unloving things from elders and others who claimed to be Christian. I won't elaborate.

I resigned as an elder and in a bid to become 'super spiritual' I decided to lay to rest all my doubts.

It was the Watchtower's OWN writings that deporgrammed me. I had been on no forums and read nothing considered 'Apostate'.....after all I was trying to become the best I could be 'in the truth'!

Finally I decided to read 'Combatting Cult Mind Control' by Steven Hassan, about his journey from the moonies. This was surely not considered 'apostate' but a good book to expose the Moonies, part of false religion.

I saw the parallel between the Moonies and the JW's. Suddenly it all made absolute sense! I'd been conned all my life!

Yes! I do use 'ironic' terms for the Org. and I am not a bit repentant for this. It helps me see the 'irony' in my journey from the org. After all, the org uses 'loaded language' designed to cause the 'US vs: THEM' illusion.

Consider how insulting these terms actually are, they may as well be swear word insults = 'Apostate' 'Immature' 'Spiritually weak' 'worldly' among others.

Like you I didn't have a problem with 'UN, 607BCE' and the like until I realised the real implications of adding it all up!!

Keep in touch........and don't fret........take everything at your own pace.

Two elders visited me today...

today i received a visit from 2 elders.

it was the first contact i've had with them sinced i've stopped going out in service or attending the meetings after the 2010 dc in june.

i opened the door without inviting them in despite the cold weather.

I'm the same as you. I'm out and wife in and even more zealous since I left!!

I told the elders not to call, not to bother me and if they do call it's just for a chat but not about religion or the watchtower.

I am cautious with my actions and words as I don't wish to make life difficult for the wife. (A small beheading methinks compared to the freedom I now feel)

just been reading the resurrected topic "remember when assemblies were fun".. bought back some good memories particularly regarding the 'holiday camps'.. i was going to add this but decided it warranted it's own topic.. the 'good times' have been replaced by incessant rules.

Don't go out of the arena (where apostates and worldly people lurk).

Don't eat lunch at a cafe etc outside the arena.

No independant thought.

However, you can take notes of the innane drivvel known as talks which are again, more rules and regulations bolstered by out of context scriptures from the Not Worthspit Translation.

The songs are just as bad as they ever were. Cold, austere crap baiting the R&F to follow men.

I recon that as the R&F murmer the tuneless 'songs', they are not really taking notice of what they sing and it filters down into a sdubliminal level. OBEY! FOLLOW THE GB.

Just look at the bait and switch travesty 'Ever Loyal' it ends with 'Obey the GB' in essence.

in the last couple of years unprecedented changes in policy, procedure, and doctrine have been coming forth in rapid fire sequence.

this uninterrupted episode of new information is beginning to backfire for the rank and file witnesses.

If you ask me, and I know you didn't, it matters not whether we think this is all sensationalism or not...........bottom line for me is that the WTBT$ changes all have to do with MONEY!

Close branches, send bethelites home........the GB want to live like rock stars. Selling assets to afford that free holiday somewhere away from world disasters.

Could the mud hut holders get subscriptions? Wre they really allowed beards? Did they carry as many lies as modernday dublications? How often were they changed under 'new light'?

Demonstrations From the Platform

good evening, all.... still relatively new here so if i'm posting about a topic that's already been run into the ground, i apologize.

but i just wanted to acknowledge the typical "demo" we all see at meetings, assemblies and conventions.

even back when i was a good-goody teen dub, my brother, friends and i would jokingly refer to demos as "5-minute illustrations on how to say 'no.'".

I was in a demo about not having 'Social Networks'. The over-sneer arranging the demo asked us if we had 'social networks'. We answered 'No!'

We did the sycophantic out of date demo.

A few days after I joined Facebook and got in touch with hundreds of 'worldly' friends...............bladdy brilliant.

Those demos are just examples of cult 'milleu control'. Stay in the 'mental commune' or die at the hands of a loving god we gave a 'brand name' to!
